The discussion above is short enough that I wouldn't like to just repeat it, but we have three options: 

*Move to <nowiki>{{FC}}</nowiki>, since the [[Family Computer|Famicom]] predates the [[Nintendo Entertainment System|NES]] by two years. It's worth noting that the console's full name is '''Family Computer''', hence the abbreviation I chose.
*Move to <nowiki>{{FC/NES}}</nowiki>, since it better reflects the actual name at the header of the template. If, for whatever reason, the use of the slash is not allowed in a template, then <nowiki>{{FCNES}}</nowiki> would be used instead.
*Keep it as <nowiki>{{NES}}</nowiki>. No further change.

#{{User|Bro3256}}  Here's the thing, the Famicom and NES run on the same hardware but are configured differently between the two. I'd consider both to be under the same general 8-bit Nintendo platform but I wouldn't call one or the other to be indicative of the platform as a whole. For the purposes of this wiki, I think keeping them in the same template is the better option and renaming it to FC/NES would be more clear.

I'm also not really fond of the <nowiki>{{FC/NES}}</nowiki> or <nowiki>{{FCNES}}</nowiki> option, since that would mean we might have to treat other nav templates the same way, such as moving {{tem|SMB2}} to <nowiki>{{SMB2/SMUSA}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMB2SMUSA}}</nowiki>, or {{tem|SMB}} to <nowiki>{{SMB/SMB2/SMBTLL}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMBSMB2SMBTLL}}</nowiki>, or even {{tem|SM3DW}} to <nowiki>{{SMB3DW/SM3DW+BF}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMB3DWSM3DWBF}}</nowiki>. It gets too convoluted and confusing.

The template header has since been changed to include the Famicom Disk System. Which means that option 2 (rename to <nowiki>{{FC/NES}}</nowiki> is no longer accurate. I don't know what to do now. I could update option 2 to include the Disk System (probably as <nowiki>{{FC/FCDS/NES}}</nowiki>, but I think I would prefer to simply not include the Disk System in the header or name.
