#{{User|Bro3256}}  Here's the thing, the Famicom and NES run on the same hardware but are configured differently between the two. I'd consider both to be under the same general 8-bit Nintendo platform but I wouldn't call one or the other to be indicative of the platform as a whole. For the purposes of this wiki, I think keeping them in the same template is the better option and renaming it to FC/NES would be more clear.

#{{User|Waluigi Time}} Per SGoW, I don't see a need for the change.
#{{User|Waluigi Time}} Per SGoW, I don't see a need for the change.
#{{User|Arend}} Current name for nav template is fine, since this is an English Wiki, and <nowiki>{{FC}}</nowiki> could work just fine as a redirect. I'm also not really fond of the <nowiki>{{FC/NES}}</nowiki> or <nowiki>{{FCNES}}</nowiki> option, since that would mean we might have to treat other nav templates the same way, such as moving {{tem|SMB2}} to <nowiki>{{SMB2/SMUSA}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMB2SMUSA}}</nowiki>, or {{tem|SMB}} to <nowiki>{{SMB/SMB2/SMBTLL}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMBSMB2SMBTLL}}</nowiki>, or even {{tem|SM3DW}} to <nowiki>{{SMB3DW/SM3DW+BF}}</nowiki> / <nowiki>{{SMB3DWSM3DWBF}}</nowiki>. It gets too convoluted and confusing.
#{{User|Shadow2}} This is superfluous, as most readers wouldn't even see the change. What does it matter what the template is called so long as it gets the basic idea across to editors?
#{{User|Cadrega86}} Unnecessary change, per Arend and Shadow2.
#{{User|Altendo}} Per Arend.
#{{User|Ahemtoday}} Navbox template names are all abbreviations anyway, so I don't really see the purpose in updating every page with this template to append a second name to it in the backend that nobody browsing the wiki will ever actually see.
#{{User|LadySophie17}} Good points raised. Adding this as my secondary option since I'm ok with things staying as they are as well.
#{{User|Jdtendo}} Navbox names should be very simple, easily guessable abbreviations. Editors should not have to wonder "Wait, is this <nowiki>{{NES/FC}} or {{FC/NES}}</nowiki> again?".
#{{user|Terrenebrick699}} very unnecessary ngl, better if we just leave it as is
#{{User|Platform}} Invisible to readers so it's pointless.

:The change is just unneeded and it just looks too cluttered for it to be considered helpful. And this is an English wiki, so we should default to the English name. {{User:Starluxe/sig}} 05:50, December 24, 2024 (EDT)
I at least think Famicom needs to be a separate navigation box because the two are different consoles, just very similar. [[User:Super Mario RPG|Super Mario RPG]] ([[User talk:Super Mario RPG|talk]]) 16:57, December 30, 2024 (EST)
:Ish there is that there's too much overlap with the templates' subjects. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 17:10, December 30, 2024 (EST)
