{{Proposal outcome|passed|2-3-0-2-1-6|have each in a separate tab}}
In response to ''[[Mario Party Superstars]]'' giving certain mini-games as many as four iterations, it was [[Talk:Mario Party Superstars#Mario Party minigame infoboxes|decided]] to show only an image of the original iteration in the infobox. Despite little discussion and not being a formal proposal, this ended up being implemented. However, I disagree with this, partially because it's the exact opposite of [[MarioWiki:Naming#Name changes]], and partially because a suggestion I had in that discussion went unnoticed - namely, having each iteration in a separate tab, [[smashwiki:Template:Tabber|as is done with stages on SmashWiki]]. Additionally, in the case of mini-games that appear in both ''Mario Party 1'' and ''2'', whose differences are often more significant than those of ''Top 100'' and ''Superstars'' iterations (and can sometimes be considered separate mini-games due to having different Japanese names), only the ''1'' iteration is acknowledged, and in the case of mini-games in ''6'' that have day and night variations, only the day variation is acknowledged.

#{{User|Hewer}} Per all, I feel like this is a good idea for both Mario Party minigames and Mario Kart courses (maybe even some other cases like [[Thwomp]] and [[Fire Piranha Plant]]).

#{{User|Arend}} We may need an admin to install [[smashwiki:Template:Tabber/styles.css|the required code]] to the appropriate CSS MediaWiki page, but I agree with the others above that not only does this option solve the conundrum with which minigame image to use, but can ''also'' be useful for other infoboxes, such as with ''Mario Kart'' courses (both the main image and the minimaps) or cases with multiple recurring designs in the modern day.

==I want confirmation that the <nowiki>|controls=</nowiki> value is still in use==
I've had most, if not all, of my attempts to move "Controls" info for Mario Party minigames from sections on the main page to the <nowiki>"|controls="</nowiki> rows undone by [[User:Dwhitney]], for instance for [[Soccer Survival]] (https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Soccer_Survival&type=revision&diff=4338622&oldid=4338394). So I wish to get it confirmed that controls info is in fact supposed to be moved/added to <nowiki>"|controls="</nowiki>. Additionally, if there are any witness accounts of whatever was going on with [[User:RAP]] back in 2013 when he decided to do all those incomprehensible moves out of `|controls=`, for instance in https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Snow_Whirled&diff=1496291&oldid=1462809, and if there were anything that even ''resembled'' due processes for him doing so, then I'd be all ears. :I'm not sure if there was some background admin talk in the forums in 2013 or so that supported these changes (which is a bit of a no-go since these discussions should've been put into talk pages or at least somewhere accessible) but either way, the controls probably should be in their own section in the body text. Controls can vary quite a lot in some minigames such as [[Mario Mechs]] where there are two teams with their own set of controls. I think it's a bit much for an infobox since they're still simple minigames, but it's not an eyesore amount either, so maybe it can fit. {{User:Mario/sig}} 14:31, September 1, 2024 (EDT)
::My more or less general intent was for the controls of 4-Player and Duel minigames to be moved to the infobox. Even I could see that using the infobox for 2-vs-2 and 3-vs-1 would've looked odd at best. [[User:DandelionSprout|DandelionSprout]] ([[User talk:DandelionSprout|talk]]) 14:38, September 1, 2024 (EDT)
:::My issue with that would then be that the controls are in two different locations, so you'll be looking in two spots if you browse these pages, unless you intend to include information in both locations. {{User:Mario/sig}} 14:40, September 1, 2024 (EDT)
::::Hmm, a decently fair argument. So at this point, should the guidelines at [[Template:Minigame infobox]] (the "Usage" section) be changed to something like ''"Instructions of how to use them to play the WarioWare microgame or minigame. Not recommended for use with Mario Party minigames due to concerns about large values for 1-vs-3, 2-vs-2, and multi-game minigames. If it's possible, use {{tem|button|n64/gcn/gba/ds/wii|''buttonhere''}}."'' I'll of course let you fellows handle the final wording, but some kind of wording would be needed in some way to make it a standard for editors to follow. :::::Maybe change the parameter to microgame-control to prevent further confusion too? I don't think microgames are too complicated but I still wonder if there are points for contention for microgames. {{User:Mario/sig}} 16:23, September 1, 2024 (EDT)
::::::WarioWare games do technically have some minigames too. Mostly famously [[Pyoro (minigame)|Pyoro]], but also ones like [[Micro Golf Tour]], [[Chicken Race]], and [[Batting Practice]]. [[User:DandelionSprout|DandelionSprout]] ([[User talk:DandelionSprout|talk]]) 02:35, September 2, 2024 (EDT)
== Remove League as a parameter, instead considering a ''Gold'' microgame's inputs as a type. ==
{{talk}}
I feel like the organization of this infobox should defer mostly/entirely to the Index or equivalent in a ''WarioWare'' game. Which is making "League" as a parameter baffling. This is for two reasons.
*The other portions of the game don't organize games by leagues, only referencing the inputs of the microgames that the player wants to use. See the Challenge Modes, which have "Input" parameters so the player can choose only Mash, Twist, or Touch microgames. Or pick Ultra, for all the microgames. Really, the wrapper of "League" is only a concept in the Story mode.
*Because of the Ultra League, every microgame in the entire game League parameter has to additionally say "Ultra League". That includes the Boss Games, they're in Dancing Team and Potluck Gang. What's the point of a parameter if every single topic that needing that parameter has half of it say the exact same thing?
The simple resolution to this is to treat "Input" as defined in the Index as a type that microgames have exclusively in ''WarioWare Gold'', because that is a schema it organizes microgames by. [[User:Salmancer|Salmancer]] ([[User talk:Salmancer|talk]]) 13:30, January 21, 2025 (EST)
I should note: Input has four possibilities and a microgame is allowed to have more than one. ([[Tread Carefully (microgame)]], and [[Wario Dance Company (WarioWare Gold)]], but oddly enough not [[On Strike]] and [[Happy Birthday]].) They're "Mash", "Twist", "Blow", and "Mic". Where Challenge modes call them "inputs", the Index says "control type", so I should have actually said "control type" in the above comment Yes I do realize following this to a logical conclusion means [[Mike]]'s microgame's have a genre of "Mic" and a control type of "Mic", meaning the infobox would read, "Mike, Mic, Mic", but that's what Nintendo says they are. [[User:Salmancer|Salmancer]] ([[User talk:Salmancer|talk]]) 17:25, January 21, 2025 (EST)
I cannot believe I typed ""Mash", "Twist", "Blow", and "Mic"". I meant "Mash", "Twist", "Touch", and "Mic". [[User:Salmancer|Salmancer]] ([[User talk:Salmancer|talk]]) 05:29, January 22, 2025 (EST)
