:::Per Ultimate Mr. L and Alex. "Yoshi (series)" would more commonly be used to refer to the franchise as a whole than the puzzle series. (There wouldn't be red links, but rather links that point to the wrong page.) 21:47, 1 September 2017 (EDT)

::::Unless someone opposes the move to Yoshi (puzzle series), this would not even need a proposal (as it was established by a proposal). But, more users must say something before doing this. I am on board with moving this to Yoshi (puzzle series). 23:47, 1 September 2017 (EDT) Edit: Oh, the proposal was asking for a better name for Yoshi puzzles, so if no opposition, a proposal is not needed. 23:50, 1 September 2017 (EDT)

"Adventures of Yoshi" source?
What is the source for the name "Adventures of Yoshi" used for the non-Yoshi's Island platformers? I've never heard of this name before, so I want to know if this is an official name. If not, I'm going to remove it. -- 22:57, 18 November 2017 (EST)
:There's a video on the Yoshi platform games on Nintendo UK's official site, but it ultimately didn't give an actual name for the series, rather talking about Yoshi's adventures. This was fixed elsewhere but not yet here.--Mister Wu (talk) 06:24, 19 November 2017 (EST)

passed
Let me tell you what. The the Yoshi franchise began with a series of puzzle games, known as the "Yoshi series", which consists of Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, and an expansion game based on Yoshi's Cookie, with Yoshi's Safari and Tetris Attack being being related games in the series. Likewise, theYoshi franchise games Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Woolly World, Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, and Yoshi's Crafted World are all platformers which play similarly to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, while Yoshi Topsy-Turvy is a platformer that features a similar story to Yoshi's Story. Perhaps there's a possibility to choose the one of the following three options:

*Option #1: Merge miscellaneous Yoshi platformers into the Yoshi's Island series article via the addition of the "Other related games" section and split Yoshi puzzles and Yoshi's Safari into "Yoshi (series)" even if the Yoshi series' name is confusing
*Option #2: Only merge Yoshi platformers into the Yoshi's Island series article via the addition of the "Other related games" section
*Option #3: Do nothing

Merge only platformers
#Hewer Per me ten months ago, and the platformers are pretty clearly based on the Yoshi's Island games.
#Arend A while ago, I had been thinking that the Yoshi platformers should've been considered as part of (or at least adjacent to) the Yoshi's Island series, because it's clear to me that nearly all of them are based on the original 1995 game and its two sequels; a stark contrast to the puzzle games (and the one on-rail shooter) that are all based on the core Super Mario games instead... except for Tetris Attack, that is (which I believe we should count as a Yoshi's Island spinoff, too).
#DrippingYellow Per all.
#PaperMarioGolf Per all.

Comments
I think there needs to be an alteration to option 1, which I'd only supports if this means redefining the Yoshi puzzle games (except Tetris Attack) and Yoshi's Safari as Super Mario games. Mario is still the playable protagonist of Yoshi, and he wields the Super Scope in Yoshi's Safari, the core part of gameplay. Despite Yoshi's name in the game titles, just because he's used as a mascot doesn't necessitate the inclusion into his franchise. And it wasn't until "Yoshi's Island" when the Yoshis really began to star in their own game. Even then, however, "Super Mario" is in both the English and Japanese titles, and it's a sidescrolling platformer, so it could potentially be a Super Mario game altogether, but I digress. I checked the use of the "yoshi.nintendo.com" domain through Wayback Machine, and it was only really used for the Yoshi platforming games, like Topsy-Turvy, Yoshi's New Island, or Yoshi's Crafted World alike. Anyway, considering the aforementioned puzzle games and Yoshi's Safari as Super Mario games seems like a good starting point before getting to the separate discussion as to whether Yoshi's Island is basically a game of the Super Mario series starring Yoshis. :They're still named after and heavily feature Yoshi though. How about having them as entries in both franchises like Donkey Kong? 16:12, December 1, 2023 (EST)

To expand upon my vote, here's what I believe should move to the Yoshi's Island series as spinoffs or adjacent titles, and what should stay on the Yoshi franchise page as miscellaneous titles:
*The platformer titles (Yoshi's Story, Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, Yoshi's Woolly World, Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, Yoshi's Crafted World, and the Yoshi Demo), as well as Tetris Attack, should be considered as part of, or adjacent to, the Yoshi's Island games:
**Nearly all the platformer titles feature very similar gameplay to the original Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island game, as well as its sequels.
**Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and the Yoshi Demo share similarities with Yoshi's Story in terms with story and/or gameplay and aesthetics. If Yoshi's Story should be moved, these titles have to move as well
**Every single one of these titles shares many of its characters, items, enemies, and even the main location with that of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its sequels. There are some titles that may feature new characters and enemies (Yoshi's Story and Yoshi Topsy-Turvy), and some have its setting to be something else (Yoshi's Woolly World and Yoshi's Crafted World), but that does not mean they don't share other similarities (Yoshi's Story and Yoshi Topsy-Turvy still take place on Yoshi's Island, and Yoshi's Woolly World and Yoshi's Crafted World still feature many of the same enemies already encountered in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island). Tetris Attack in particular is practically a Yoshi's Island reskin of Panel de Pon/Puzzle League, featuring the same characters and locations.
*The remaining titles (Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, Yoshi's Safari, Yoshi no Cookie: Kuruppon Oven de Cookie the Purple Yoshi tech demo) should either stay here as miscellaneous titles, or as Super Game Gear pointed out, be redefined as Super Mario spinoff titles that happen to have "Yoshi" in the name instead (the latter could be an entire discussion of its own, though).
**All of these don't feature any of the characters, enemies and locations introduced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (mostly because they were all made prior to this title's release), and instead are based on the core Super Mario titles at the time.
**All of these star Mario alongside Yoshi, and the player generally plays as him instead of Yoshi.
*As for the Purple Yoshi tech demo, there is too little information to determine whether it should be considered as part of the Yoshi's Island series or not; all we know is that the one screenshot we got doesn't include any features familiar to the Yoshi's Island series nor the Super Mario franchise, aside from the rather odd-looking Purple Yoshi.
