Regarding the sentence "Additionally, what appears to be an early iteration of this character is simply referred to as カメック (Kamek) in concept art for the original game." Is that talking about the concept art that shows it alongside Shaman and Shy Guy? Isn't that probably just a generic Magikoopa? I mean, generic as in a generic enemy, not as in Kamek. :If I recall correctly, isn't "Kamek" just a generic name for the species? 15:09, November 24, 2023 (EST)

::It is: in Japan, Magikoopas are all Kamek, and very rarely if ever is the "character" one distinguished in any way - hence why he pretty much never appears alongside different blue ones. I'm not sure which concept it is talking about, though. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:28, November 24, 2023 (EST)

::::Well the other "clouds" there do show boss characters, like Croco and Booster to the left. The normal Shy Guy is a bit eyebrow-raising, though. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:51, November 24, 2023 (EST)
:::::The clouds seem to be more for keeping the page looking semi-organized than anything, there's plenty of bosses outside of them, after all. Anyways, the Japanese text says「そそのかされ系」("enticed type"?), while the boss that points to them says「そそのかし司祭( 杖 )」("enticing priest (staff)"?). As far as I can tell, anyway. All the other regular enemies are labeled "(something) zako" though, so it's still an odd exception. Blinker (talk) 17:26, November 24, 2023 (EST)

Hands off my edit!
According to TheGamer, you have to have Bowser in your party. This contradicts the previous edits I replaced. TheGamer is a reliable source. Finito. Jackjolt1
:In this case, they're not reliable, they are completely wrong. I have played this game and I can clarify you don't need Bowser in the party for that quote. A warning will be followed if you force that edit back. 18:48, November 29, 2023 (EST)
:Literally no thought in the game changes depending on the active party, aside from Mallow needing to be there to see it at all. I have played the original translation, where the appropriate quote exists, and it doesn't matter who is in the party. This "TheGamer" is no more reliable than Buzzfeed or Kotaku, if not even less (if such a thing is possible). Also, basic wiki courtesy tip: you don't get to tell people they aren't "allowed" to revert your edit. ::For fun, I looked for the article in question. It's just some "25 things about Bowser" nonsense. Just be glad the "debate" isn't about whether Bowser is a "genocidal maniac" in Super Mario Bros, or about whether Bowser and Peach are "still" married... Blinker (talk) 19:03, November 29, 2023 (EST)
::Be that as it may, Swallow. I still believe it.Jackjolt1
:::No one cares what you believe, as long as you don't attempt to pass fan-fiction off as fact in articles. So don't. Unless you're talking about the party thing, in which case you should just play the game and see for yourself. :::::Why should I watch a video when I've seen it in-game myself? I know for a fact Bowser is not required. In reply to what you said, I say "Don't believe me? Play the game yourself." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:23, December 2, 2023 (EST)
::::::Jackjolt1: You need to learn to vet sources. Not everything you view on YouTube is a good source of information. In fact, YouTube is chock full of misinformation because there's no serious means to curate content and it's all profit-based anyway, from ad revenue on individual channels to the ad revenue also going to YouTube itself, so people are often motivated to promote misinformation if this generates views and ad revenue. TheGamer is not an official venue it seems, and given its apparent claims are easily contradicted by the game itself, it doesn't seem like a reliable source either. 14:41, December 2, 2023 (EST)
::::::What if you're bluffing?Jackjolt1 (talk) 18:53, December 3, 2023 (EST)
:::::::I'm not, but what does it matter? If you care that much, play the game for yourself and look up the thought without Bowser equipped, and see what you get. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:58, December 3, 2023 (EST)
