It has come to my attention that Wildbrain's YT descriptions are literally copypasted from the first sentences of the plot synopsis sections of our own episode articles. The citation for "Mushroom Woods" is simply what it was before this page was moved. ("Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad have traveled to the Mushroom Woods during the winter season to visit Princess Toadstool's sick grandmother.") In light of this, I'm thinking mayhap we should put this as a similar situation as Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia, especially considering as far as I'm aware WildBrain is merely a distributor. :Using YouTube descriptions and similar ilk such as Amazon listing descriptions as an official source and the like has always been a shakey source of information (Amazon listings for some Mario plush products also copy and paste from intros in MarioWiki), so I had been quite against it from the start. 14:30, December 4, 2020 (EST)

:: How did they literally do that? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 15:06, December 4, 2020 (EST)

:Very nice catch. Another point against using YouTube descriptions as a source is that I think they can be edited by the channel at any moment. I believe some of the descriptions do come from official DVDs however, albeit with mistakes. Can we get more examples before deciding to go forward? ::I first noticed it with Koopa Klaus, since it blatantly just told the opening instead of a full or just general synopsis. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:42, December 7, 2020 (EST)
:::Agreed on not using the YouTube descriptions as citations anymore, they've always felt incredibly flimsy to me, especially since a YouTube title or description can be changed on a whim. We have to keep in mind that we're very likely not even dealing with anyone involved in the original show anymore (and probably no access to their old resources either, if they even cared to look). These are the people who bought the people who bought DIC, and obviously whoever's uploading them isn't putting a lot of effort into it if they're copying from us. -- 12:43, December 7, 2020 (EST)
::::This reminds me, P Flying Squirrel Mario's page uses a video description as a source for the name "Power Squirrel Mario". If we go through with disconsidering video descriptions as viable sources, should this one be removed as well, even if it's from a YouTube channel run by Nintendo? 13:09, December 7, 2020 (EST)
:::::If it's a source from Nintendo directly, I think it would be fine to stay. I trust them a lot more than I trust some company uploading cartoons from the 80's/90's that they bought from someone who bought them. -- 13:17, December 7, 2020 (EST)
