Do we know for sure that Peach's letter refers to the carryable blocks? Notably in the remakes, the "white blocks" are not white at all, but the letter still says "white block". I suggest that Peach is actually talking about [[Note Block]]s, which often contain powerups ("magic powers"), and are white in all releases.
