Why is WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! considered a port/reissue of the first game? From what I've seen of the game, it doesn't seem to share any content outside of the reused microgames, and Nintendo has repeatedly described it as an individual entry in the series, including on the WarioWare official website. Reusing assets from a previous game doesn't necessarily make it the same game. 08:04, March 14, 2025 (EDT)

:I mean, the microgames are like. the game. That's what WarioWare as a series is about. If a Super Mario game had exclusively levels reused from a previous title but with new content sewing them together, that's a reissue. cough cough. Being officially listed in a series also isn't too much of a sign, since New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has been considered a mainline Super Mario game by Nintendo for at least 5 years by now.--PopitTart (talk) 08:21, March 14, 2025 (EDT)

::I mean, we don't consider Super Mario Bros. 35 a reissue of Super Mario Bros. (...well, we do in Template:SMB, but not on the game's page, the Super Mario (series) page, Template:Super Mario games, the reissue page, or the reissue categories. Incidentally, those last two don't seem to have Mega Party Games either.) Point is, a game might be able to reuse content while still not being a port if it significantly alters the structure and/or gameplay. 09:33, March 14, 2025 (EDT)

::I think another difference with Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is that the original SMB didn't really have any content besides the levels, so everything new in Deluxe was just being added on top of what was already there, whereas Mega Party Games altered, removed, and replaced significant parts of the original game. At the very least, I don't think we should be calling it a "port", since it clearly doesn't match the definition of one given on the reissue page as being near-identical to the original. 10:10, March 14, 2025 (EDT)
