For a long time, it's been listed that a Troopa's shell is broken during that one cutscene in Brawl, but I've never seen it as that. I've always seen the Troopa getting knocked partially underground, with the things surrounding him not being shell pieces, but small piles of dirt....exactly like what happens during one of DK's actual in-game moves. Can anyone confirm or deny this without a shadow of a doubt? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:44, 7 May 2018 (EDT)

:So I rewatched the video (repeatedly, poor Koopa) and found a few contradictions. 1) You can't even see the shell. For all we know, it didn't even have one to begin with. By the time you see the Koopa Troopa, DK's fist is already on it. 2) The "shell" debris appears to be in front of the Koopa, not coming from it. You can see the same effects underneath the Koopa as the Koopa is getting embedded into the ground, which would cause dirt displacement. There's no doubt that DK would definitely be able to break a Koopa shell, seeing as he's strong enough to punch the moon out of orbit, but I don't think they'd show an in-use Koopa Shell getting smashed (ah puns). An empty Green Shell gets smashed all the time, though. 18:53, 7 May 2018 (EDT)
