Yes, I know that these are all similar in that they bounce characters, but that's the only similarity they have. High Springs and Long Springs from the [[Mario vs. Donkey Kong (series)|''Mario vs. Donkey Kong'' series]] look very different from usual Springboards (Springboards fold more like an accordion, while High Springs and Long Springs have two beady eyes, different color schemes, and coil springs) and act different too (The player can control how high the character bounces with Springboards, a feat not possible with High Springs and Long Springs. Players can also carry Springboards, while they can only add and remove High Springs and Long Springs at designated locations.). Therefore, I propose we split both High Spring and Long Spring into their own articles.

As they said, to remove ''these specific springboards'' from the article seems like an odd nitpick considering the slew of different forms and types of springboards listed in the article. As was discussed in the proposal above this one, if they serve the same purpose, they belong in the same article, at least in this instance. Mentioning different appearances is like saying every different look of a Goomba across the series needs to be in their own articles because they look different in each game, and the slightly different functions of a player being unable to carry the Springs or control their height does not warrant a new article in my opinion. If these Springs should be split into a new article, so should those laid out below, which would likely be more inconvenient for a peruser of the Wiki than just having them all in one location. A user looking for ''one specific version of the Spring'' would know what game it was coming from. They would arrive in the Springboard article, and see the Table of Contents. They would click ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong series'' and get all the information they need on High and Long Springs. I see no point in splitting the article.

Different appearances is not a good reason to me. In the article, the springboard has varied appearances as well as varied levels of interaction. Within the ''Paper Mario'' series, for instance, the springs look completely different and have different functions (and they don't control Mario's jumping either). In Club Nintendo, it's a coil spring. There's also the ''Super Mario Run'' springboard which isn't pressure-triggered and it also looks a lot different. The springs still have their straightforward purpose of launching characters higher than normal. That characters can't control how high they jump isn't a deal breaker to me, nor are their different appearances. :That's not my only reason for keeping these merged, but even still I think in this instance, it is applicable. No one will know the ''exact name of the spring'' they're looking for. They'll know the series in which it came from, not the exact name of the High Spring and Long Spring. If we want it to be clear that there are two different types of Springs, that can be quickly explained in the respective article. I understand that this is regarding [[MarioWiki:Good_writing#Everything_but_the_kitchen_sink|everything but the kitchen sink]] concerns perhaps, however I still don't believe that the differences here are potent enough to warrant their separation from the article, ''much less'' into each of their own articles. Again, if the distinction between High and Long Springs is what's important, then that can be noted in the article. Seeing as the article lists ''every single type of spring/springboard in the'' Mario ''series, I'm not willing to remove these two specific types from the exhaustive list unless the entire article is reformed.'' ::It ''is'' named in a game, so if they want to look these up, they know the exact name. However, the only difference between them is the distance. Height is the same. The only thing that the game tries to split them is that if both are on the play field, they count towards separate counters. You just can't change a Vertical to Horizontal or vice versa. The section for SMW calls this a trampoline because of the GBA manual and Nintendo Power Advance. However, everything else refers to this by its SNES manual name "Jumping Board".
