I got the blue coin from a Goomba by landing from a spin from the helicopter thing nearby,  where the cannon is. 81.106.145.14

::::I thought all logs would give coins if you did either of those things (but not both at once). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:26, 14 December 2017 (EST)

:::::Usually, the logs would spit out Coins if they are ran around at least five loops. When I added the information about a year ago, this log was reversed: Ground Pounding gave out Coins. Now it seems to act like a normal log. I don't get it. 17:28, 14 December 2017 (EST)

:::::Just checked the DS version, too, and that one also incorrectly functions correctly. Running around it gives you Coins, which is not what this one is supposed to do. 17:38, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::Just checked the DS version, too, and that one also functions incorrectly, er, correctly. Running around it gives you Coins, which is not what this one is supposed to do. 17:38, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::And you can say for certain this is "incorrect" how, exactly? I'm really pretty sure either works for all the logs that give out coins at all. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:49, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::No, usually, Ground Pounding a log would produce nothing. In the 20-some years I've been playing this game, this particular log has always gave out Coins upon Ground Pounding it, the opposite of the other logs. It seems like it was the devs' intention to make nothing happen when players run around the log here, as implied by the sign, but now, suddenly and randomly, it's giving out Coins like any other log? 19:30, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::That high up island. The one that can't be jumped to the top from the water. And has very little running space to run around the log. First, how are you getting to it? Second, have you ground pounded it in the remake to see what comes out? Because, in the remake, you can ground pound any log and it gives coins just like running around it. 19:59, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::::I get to it by jumping on the Fly Guy on the beach.
:::::::::Hm, so they do. I guess the DS version is a different case, but then why have that sign there? 20:10, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::::Wow! That is faster than going up higher and jumping down (at least on the big area as getting up there on small then using pipe is questionable), though Fly Guys only can be jumped off of once.
::::::::::I guess that if someone tries to run, they might get dizzy and fall off, not getting the coins from the log. This is where going around it slowly helps. 20:15, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::::::(Luigi's backflip in the DS version also works ;)) I guess the sign could be a trick to get the player to run around it, unknowingly getting rewarded for it. But for the log to just suddenly act different for the first time in twenty years makes no sense to me. ...Whatever, this discussion doesn't seem to be going anywhere. At the moment, it really just seems like a regular ol' log, so would everyone be fine with me removing the information on the page? Can someone <s>please</s> prove me otherwise? 20:19, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::::::No opposition on it's removal. Question is, is the version you have/tested the N64 version? 21:05, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::::::::Tested both versions, but if every log in the DS version gives you Coins regardless of what you do with it, it's mainly the N64 one I'm worried about. 21:28, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::::::::Both N64 and DS versions, or N64 and Virtual Console versions? 21:36, 14 December 2017 (EST)
:::::::::::::::I don't use Virtual Console much. Anyway, the information has been removed. If for some reason or another this reverse log starts working correctly again, it can be added back. 21:40, 14 December 2017 (EST)
::::::::::::::::I forgot to mention that I was talking only about the USA N64 Version, not the Virtual Console or the DS versions. I tried to replicate my original findings. I was surprised to make the coins appear without getting in the red coins' area, or by using a ground pound. I tried a second time and failed to make them appear. Both times, it was on Star 1 (Piranha Flower). The second time I tried both clockwise and counter clockwise. I went to the red coins' area, run around and the coins appeared easily. I really have no idea of what to assume. The only thing that I see, is that, something random prevents the coins from appearing sometimes, and the red coins' area fixes it. I have seen two youtube videos with people that try to collect all 191 coins (I know about the extra coin), and the one collects the coins normally and the other one collects them after visiting the red coins' area. While this doesn't prove anything about the red coins' area, it proves that the coins spawn without the usage of a ground pound. I think that the most exiting thing is, that even after 20 years of its initial release, this game has still some secrets to unveil. So... the Log is real! Or not...Gomess 512 (talk) 14:18, 15 December 2017 (EST)
