I'm pretty sure that they are all thwomps, they just look different because the hardware of the nintendo 64 was not big enough. Whomps have legs and hands and they are anyway subspecies of thwomps. {{Unsigned|60.242.2.211}}

Okay, so I noticed a bunch of Thwomp-like creatures have "don" in their japanese names (Namely, [[Grindel|Donkaku]], [[Spindel|Donguru]], [[Bomp|Tsukidashidon]], [[Tox Box|Onimasudon]], [[Wallop|Donpyon]], [[Stairface Ogre|Donsuke]]). I was thinking "don" might be derived from "Dossun", is that too much of a stretch? Wallop and Stairface's Chinese and Korean names do seem to be based on Thwomp's. I'm not sure what to conclude. If I'm not mistaken, Thwomp's current design was first used in Mario Kart Double Dash. Is it worth emphasising in the respective sections? It currently states that it was the first title in the Mario Kart series to utilise that design, not the Mario franchise as a whole. :That's not quite Thwomp's current design, but an earlier variation of it. Thwomp's current (spiked) design was introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if you compare [[:File:NSMBU Thwomp Artwork.png|Thwomp's current design]] to its appearance in [[:File:MP7ThwompModel.png|Mario Party 7]] which uses the same design as Double Dash and other games of the era, there's actually quite a bit of difference there. :I still think the article could use somewhat more consistency as it claims multiple times that Thwomp's design from SM64DS was reused in several games whereas the SM64DS segment itself actually states that the game carried over the design introduced in MKDD. Although I see that referring to it as the 'current design' could be somehow questionable as it has been altered quite a few times since then, I nevertheless consider its rectangular shape and face to arguably serve as the pioneering base for all future designs, distinguishing it from Thwomp's original cartoonic SMB3 art style and blue squared design first seen in SM64 in particular. Hello, i noticed the suggestion on the thwomp page to have all the Zelda thwomps be their own pages, and to that end I have turned the redirects of these subspecies into their own pages, with the info that was on the main Thwomp Page. I also summarized the thwomp info on the main page, and moved it down to the "Other Appearances" section to be more consistent. If there's anything else that needs to be adjusted and such to accomodate this change, I think we should get to it. I get the feeling it's become quite debatable which design of Thwomp to have in the infobox, as it basically has two modern designs: the curved edges one introduced in Super Mario Galaxy, and the more spiked edges one introduced in New Super Mario Bros Wii, and the design used often varies by how Thwomps are treated in the games by if they are safe to touch on the side or not. Personally, I'm not really a huge fan of having both in the infobox together, so I'm making this proposal to come to a decision on what to do, and I have four options on how to go about this.

*1 - Always use the Super Mario Galaxy design.
*2 - Always use the New Super Mario Bros Wii design.
*3 - Per the usual infobox image rules, use the latest game artwork regardless of which of these two designs is used.
*4 - Continue using both together.
