The Super Mario platform games have never belonged to the action-adventure genre in the past, the are solely for the platform genre. Is there an official confirmation from Nintendo this game is actually categorized as an action-adventure game? I remember Nintendo saying it is an open world game and obviously still belongs to the platform genre but nothing about action-aventure. This ain't a Zelda game.

The scene with the upside down flower pot enemies makes this very apparent: you have the trees from the waterfall/stream forest and a reddish metallic tower which is the same type as the metallic structures at the lake. Unfortunately, the watering robots are not seen in the lake with the metallic structures, so it can be guessed that they are the same location since they are both in a forest, but we cannot be sure. The "map" poster we use for a source of the Kingdom names and their main areas also give us many enemy names, such as "Goomba", "Bullet Bill", etc. If this is as reliable as we believe it to be, then we should change the source for "Frog" being an enemy to this poster, as the trailer it is currently sourced to has no implication that the frog is an enemy, whilst the poster lists it as one. We should also remove the T-Rex [as it is labelled on the poster] from supporting characters and to the enemy list, as the poster lists it as another enemy. Maybe we should also list the enemy names on the poster as well, which as sort of been done, due to the inclusion of Fire Bros and Chargin' Chucks on the enemy list. So, quite a bit of editing to do! This is technically speculation, but I think I can back this up. The names on the map showed prominent enemy names? Well they match up logically with enemies we've seen by now.<br>
Burrbo: The Hedgehog-looking enemy. It's covered in ''burr''s, and has a similar body structure and mouth to a Kuri''bo''. Furthermore, the locations match up.<br>
Glydon: The Saurian glider. It ''glides'', and is based off of a Ptero''don''. The only thing that doesn't match is the location, but it could very well be multi-localled, as many enemies seem to be.<br>
Gushen: The purple octopuses, which seem to be the most prominent enemy in the Seaside Kingdom, given how often they appeared, and appear to have a boss version atop a stack. Furthermore, their attack pattern (and Mario's gained ability) is to ''gush'' water from them to move at high speeds through various "terrains".<br>

There are many animals - mostly the extinct ones - whose names ends with ''-odon'', said suffix means ''tooth'' in Greek and thus it is used for animals that have been named after the aspect of the teeth. Lost Kingdom is just Forgotten Isle's Kingdom name (Like Sand Kingdom is to Tostarena). We've seen footage of it. It's the jungle-like area with the sea of purple goo.

Ruined Kingdom (I believe the area was called Crumbledin, or something to that effect) is the gothic/medieval place we saw in the Nintendo World Championships.

The capture target list should give us clarification, cause if they are listed as Hammer Bros, they... are, well, Hammer Bros. When writing up the in-game brochure descriptions ([[Cap Kingdom#Brochure descriptions|example]]), where should the tiny bottom-left sections go? ([[:File:Cap_Kingdom_Brochure.png|Here's one of the brochures]] if you haven't played the game.) Most of the ones written up so far have listed them as the third section, which may seem logical, but I quickly realized this doesn't work when I wrote up the [[Dark Side]]'s brochure descriptions. Most of the sections on that brochure are profiles for the [[Broodals]], while the bottom-left section ("One Last Door") hints at what happens after they're defeated, and having that come right in the middle of all of the Broodal profiles doesn't make sense. So I put it at the bottom, but they could also be listed above the "Three Keys to the Kingdom" sections that every brochure has (the [[Cloud Kingdom]] article did it that way before [https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Cloud_Kingdom&diff=prev&oldid=2334979 this edit]). We have to address this issue sooner or later, might as well be sooner.

The ''Super Mario Odyssey'' [[:Template:Kingdom|kingdoms template]] currently lists every single checkpoint in the game, with links (mostly red) to each and every one of them, as if to suggest we should actually create articles for all of them. We should ''not''. Do we have articles for every Power Moon? No. Do we have articles for every [[List of treasures in Wario: Master of Disguise|treasure]] in ''Wario: Master of Disguise''? No. Should we give articles to every single solitary checkpoint in ''Super Mario Odyssey'' just because they have a name? No, no, a thousand times ''no''. We don't split Windswept Valley from [[Tiny-Huge Island]], nor do we split Hoohoo Mountain Base from [[Hoohoo Mountain]]. Something must be done.

There was a [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive_51#Do_not_create_Super_Mario_Odyssey_sublocation_pages|proposal]] about this last year which the proposer ended up canceling. The problem with this proposal was that it wasn't clear enough about exactly which locations should get articles and which shouldn't. So I went over them and organized them into groups: what we should keep, what we ''might'' want to keep, and what we should get rid of.

# Towns with unique music from the rest of the kingdom (Tostarena Town, Peronza Plaza).

Anyway, I think that under section 2.1 Controls, we should remove the "Single Player Controls" and "Two Player Controls" labels from the column names, as Pro Controllers and dual Joy-Con can also be used in 2-Player mode, including for controlling Cappy. I believe the labels should instead read "Dual Joy-Con/Pro Controller" and "Horizontal Joy-Con". Since horizontal Joy-Con can only be used in 2-Player mode, I suppose you could add "(Two Player Mode only)" to the Horizontal Joy-Con column label, but you get the gist.
