Currently, some of the game's enemies are sourced from a random mix of Japanese and generic names. I presume we've held off on making significant changes because ''Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia'' made the present names a bit more popular. This proposal addresses it and enforces whether or not we will be using Japanese or generic names for certain enemies. Below are the subjects in question.

Are these course names official? I completed this game and found ABSOLUTELY no sign of those names. Are you getting them from Prima or Nintendo Power, because I don't have copies of their "Guides" to know. All I have is the Super Mario Bros Encyclopedia, and I don't know why you're so against it. I mean, "Tree Trunk Course" sounds more official than "Invincibility!". There isn't even a star in that course! (Or at least I think so, it's been a while since I played.) :) [[Special:Contributions/106.69.164.70|106.69.164.70]] 00:34, May 20, 2023 (EDT)

::I considered proposing at one point to use the ''Encyclopedia'' course names for consistency, but the fact that this means we'd be stuck with [[Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia#List of English translation errors and typos not from the Super Mario Wiki|the Roots Course and Tree Trunk Course error]] made me walk back on that (though I'd probably be neutral if someone else made it).
