:Well, mostly I settled it :P. A nice one week ban is what he gets. Thanks Princess Grapes for alerting me. You did the right thing. Meanwhile, Learner, back-up pages are not neccessary. Sysops can easily revert edits and block the user if needed. I was looking at this article, and I saw that Power Stars, Grand Stars, Green Stars and the Red Power Star were listed as items, I don't think they fit as items and deserve they're own section. <br>

How should we resolve these inconsistencies? Should Fiery Dino Piranha be merged with Dino Piranha in the Galaxy article? (My preference is "no") Should we list each Undergrunt Gunner as separate bosses? (my preference is "yes") Should we list both King Kalientes as separate bosses? (my thought is "maybe") – Nintendo101 (talk) 19:10, March 4, 2021 (EST)

::Water Bazooka and Electric Bazooka have their own discussion under Undergrunt Gunner's page. I personally think splitting them would be at the very least difficult to do cleanly since "Undergrunt Gunner" is said in-game in SMG, but I suppose they could be listed as "Undergrunt Gunner in Water Bazooka or some such thing. Another thing to add to the Kaliente and Dino thing is Gobblegut in SMG2 is treated the same way (those listings are taken straight from the Japanese Encyclopedia, by the way). Another note, I personally feel Mecha-Bowser is as much a "boss" as Megaleg. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:58, March 4, 2021 (EST)

:::I'm not sure it is necessarily to split up the main articles for Undergrunt Gunner and King Kaliente in the same way green and red Koopa Troopas share the same article. However, with regards to giving each one seperate entries in the main Galaxy article, it's a distinction that's potentially valid for a similar reason: in the returning enemy chart on the article, "Koopa Troopa (green)" and "Koopa Troopa (red)" are given separate entries. I think it would be helpful to have shared information between official material and what is in the Galaxy article, especially if the SMG2 boss chart follows the same convention. (Though I totally think it is worth evaluating Mecha-Bowser as a proper boss at some point: I thought it was one when I was a kid, and it at least felt similar to a boss fight when I replayed Galaxy recently. I think the only thing that makes Mecha-Bowser a different case is how it is framed in-game and that I don't think Mecha Bowser has any way of directly causing damage to Mario. Megaleg can at least step on him. But I could be mistaken. It's still worth discussing, in my opinion.) – Nintendo101 (talk) 20:41, March 4, 2021 (EST)

I understand the desire to keep a trivia section small - I am not against that. But if we are going to have a trivia section at all, and we want to include the Nintendo Power thing on this page, than I really think this specific detail should be moved back to the trivia section. I really don't think it belongs in the beginning of the article as it has nothing to do with the actual Wii game. It really feels like a pace-breaker in learning about the game because it is a trivial detail that does not really fit anywhere else. Curious to know what others think. - Nintendo101 (talk) 12:36, December 30, 2021 (EST)

:Honestly it does seem like the kind of thing that would be trivia to me too. Saying that the game's title was coincidentally used as a joke in a magazine over a decade earlier doesn't seem opening-worthy at all. -- 12:39, December 30, 2021 (EST)

:::Sorry about that, I just thought the incorporate trivia thing in the spotlight meant incorporating as much trivia as possible. I'd be fine with it I guess, now that you bring it up.Somethingone (talk) 16:16, December 30, 2021 (EST)
Some people take the "Incorporate Trivia sections in the main as much as possible" advice too literally. "A old fan letter in an official magazine coincidentally happened to mention a fictitious game with the exact same name as a real one released much later" is literally trivia. It makes no sense to put it in the lead. --Glowsquid (talk) 16:14, December 30, 2021 (EST)

:Co-Star Luma has no presence in my playthrough of Super Mario Galaxy on the Nintendo Switch. Do you recall where you saw it? - Nintendo101 (talk) 19:07, November 9, 2024 (EST)
Star icons
I notice the tables referring to missions use the "? in a star" icon for the hidden stars, but the normal green-colored star icon for is used for the green stars. The green stars are also considered hidden stars by the game - in fact, the game uses a green-colored version of the "?" icon in the same context the white "?" is used. As such, I think it would be more consistent to either swap the ? icon for the normal star icon, or give the green stars the green ? icon. The former would make the most sense, as the game also uses an "empty" star icon for non-completed normal missions if I remember correctly. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:58, December 20, 2024 (EST)
:For the context of this table, the "Secret Star" icon refers to only the yellow Power Stars that are hidden, whereas the green ones get to have their own because it is available to them. I personally like to keep this setup. It is not inaccurate because the Green Power Stars have unique connotations that the other secret Stars do not, so I think highlighting them is helpful. The other Secret Stars are just normal Power Stars obtained by accessing an already established mission and nothing more. - Nintendo101 (talk) 19:14, December 20, 2024 (EST)
::Not inaccurate, but contextually inconsistent. Since they're already sorted after the comet stars, they're still distinguished even if they use the normal star icon. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:31, December 20, 2024 (EST)
:::Perhaps you can remind me. Is there a green "hidden star" icon in Super Mario Galaxy? - Nintendo101 (talk) 19:32, December 20, 2024 (EST)
::::Yes, I said that in my initial message. It's like the white one, but tinted green. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:37, December 20, 2024 (EST)
:::::Well, if we really want to label the secret stars with the ? icon, I agree in using the green one for green stars at this point, so we are at least a bit more consistent.--Mister Wu (talk) 18:37, December 22, 2024 (EST)
::::::Looking into the images we have a bit more, it looks like this is actually the SMG2 ? star icon rather than the original's? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:10, December 22, 2024 (EST)
:::::::That's not something I have personal access to :/ I do not rip game assets. So I made a custom asset for the purposes of the chart. Someone else is welcomed to replace it with the one from Super Mario Galaxy if they have it. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:21, December 22, 2024 (EST)
