Since the Glitches section only has one glitch (Minus World), and there is an article for this glitch, shouldn't we just remove the glitch section in the article entirely?

:He used a Game Genie code. Therefore, obviously it shouldn't be included in the article. Stuff without Game Genie, such as the infamous World-1 glitch or stuff, should be added. Also, if the guy corrupted it, it makes it his own video, which is not nnintendo related. Other comments?

::It's part of the backlog of unimplemented proposals. If you have free time, you can trawl through the "References in later games" section and delete them. You should also check if the later games have corresponding "References in other games" sections to edit as well. passed
Remember how, a while back, I proposed that the References to other media section of The Super Mario Bros. Movie should be moved to its own list article? That was because of how long it was and how much space it took up. The References in other media section looks to be of equal length, and should preferably be split into its own list article of the same format.
Just to be clear, I'm not referring to the References to other media section; it's far too short. It's the References in other media section I'm referring to. I'll make a draft in my sandbox later on (currently busy irl) to demonstrate what it would look like. 08:52, September 28, 2024 (EDT)

Split
#RetroNintendo2008 Per proposal.
#ThePowerPlayer Given that Super Mario Bros. is likely the most iconic game in the entire franchise, this is a good opportunity to trim the references section in the main article, since I foresee this list only growing in the future. Also, once split to its own article, images could be added to make the references more immediately clear.

Lava collision
Actually, it is apparent in the game that the lava found in all castle levels does not harm Mario or Luigi upon contact, contrary to what is stated in the article. Sensible mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. 162.120.22.103 06:04, February 16, 2025 (EST)

passed
A few months ago, there was a failed proposal to split off long references sections. With that in mind, I'm following up with a reversal of the above proposal that split list of references to Super Mario Bros. into its own page. Basically, the follow-up proposal failed because we already have the article size guideline to determine when to split long pages. Although the references in later media list was somewhat lengthy, the page prior to its removal was only ~93k bytes, far below the 150k byte minimum before considering a split. Re-merging would be consistent with the majority view in that proposal as well as our article size guideline.

Split the 25th anniversary Wii port
TPP
We have a separate article for Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition, which has the same amount of differing content from its original incarnation in the game itself (mostly the title screen) - not counting press materials - as this. Same for Donkey Kong Classics. This game is separate from the main Virtual Console version of Super Mario Bros., being a port with (minimal) differences that does hold some amount of historical significance for being a red Wii pack-in title for Mario's 25th anniversary.

25th Anniversary Comments
Does this mean we have to split Donkey Kong Original Edition too? Almost every reason you had for 25th Anniversary SUPER MARIO BROS. to be split can also be applied to Donkey Kong Original Edition. The game was pre-installed on the European edition of the 25th Mario Anniversary red Wii, it has differing content from the original NES release, and the original NES release has also seen a Virtual Console release alongside Original Edition. 16:26, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
:I would prefer both be split, yes. I have put a proposal on the Donkey Kong page to split Original Edition. Nelsonic (talk) 16:28, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
All-Stars Limited Edition was a physical disk that came with a design booklet for the series and a soundtrack disk. From what I can tell, this is just a pre-installed VC game on a limited edition red Wii. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:58, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
: From what I can tell based on the TCRF article, Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition was also a Virtual Console game, just on a disk (plus extra materials). Nelsonic (talk) 21:00, April 21, 2025 (EDT)
::It being on a physical disk rather than exclusively being built-in to specific consoles is a point in SMASLE's favor. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:54, April 21, 2025 (EDT)
We're a bit skeptical... While we understand the thought process--unique release with differing graphics--we can't say we appreciate the precedent this sets. Namely, where do you draw the line on "unique release"? In an extreme case, you could use this as a precedent to later split, say, the PC-88 and Sharp X1 versions of Super Mario Bros. Special, or the 4 versions of Donkey Kong 3: Dai Gyakushū that we only have half of, when the only differences are usually just audiovisual. And in our opinion, as the accidental rising star for those games, those versions should absolutely not be split; there just are not substantial enough differences between them. Would the idea be that the versions for different computers for those games don't count as a "unique release", unlike the 25th Anniversary edition? What exactly makes a release "unique", anyways? 13:09, April 22, 2025 (EDT)
: Yeah, I think a unique release is mostly constituted as whether or not the game has a unique title (Super Mario Bros. vs. 25th Anniversary SUPER MARIO BROS.), is marketed as a separate release (25ASMB was a pre-installed "special game" for red Wiis, while, say, the Virtual Console version of Super Mario Bros. 2 was marketed as "play Super Mario Bros. 2 on a new console"), and features new content (to use an example that also features a minor amount of new content, New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U features videos that the original(s) do not, in the same manner that this game reskins ? Blocks and All Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros. merges Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bros. and reskins certain enemies and objects). I agree that differing PC versions of games released on multiple home computers would not warrant a split, in the same manner that we don't split both the Family Computer and Nintendo Entertainment System versions of Super Mario Bros. 3 from each other.
