:No. This is by far the most common use of the phrase "Super Mario Bros.", while the meanings of things like Yoshi's Island all are used commonly enough. The movie can be linked to with about or something similar, and Mario Bros. (talking about the game?) has a quite different name. - 16:52, 8 August 2007 (EDT)

:He used a Game Genie code. Therefore, obviously it shouldn't be included in the article. Stuff without Game Genie, such as the infamous World-1 glitch or stuff, should be added. Also, if the guy corrupted it, it makes it his own video, which is not nnintendo related. Other comments?

"The Mario sprite on the cover is the same sprite on the Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. NES games."

But the SMB cover sprite is the Fire Mario sprite, whereas Fire Mario didn't exist in DK and Mario Bros. (Also, didn't DK and Mario Bros. have Mario with his soon to be traditional blue overalls and red shirt, while SMB had him in a different outfit?)
Ekolis

It just means that Mario's picture is the same shape as in the DK and MB box arts.

mention music in 3D world
In the section of this article labeled References in later games, most uses of the super mario overworld theme music in later games are listed, but its use in Super Mario 3D World is omitted. A version of the theme is used as the music for some levels such as level Star-1 Rainbow Run. Please add it to the list entry for 3D World in that section.

Glitch on hard mode?
On my 3DS I've got to "hard mode", and a lot of times I reset it to start over. But when I do so, it sometimes takes me to 2-1, 3-1, or 4-1. Once it went back to the normal mode, and when I went to my save point and back, it was hard mode again... Can you explain this? ==AKA Super Mario Bros. 1==
Is this really noteworthy? The current source has only one mention as a header called 『スーパーマリオブラザーズ1・2』のヒント (Super Mario Bros. 1&2 Hints). This seems like a shorthand way of fitting "Super Mario Bros. + Super Mario Bros. 2" within the same space, making it informal, not the official title mentioned elsewhere in the source. It's a casual reference like Super Mario or, with some Japanese fans, 「スーマリ」 (SuMari), that is meant to pair with the sequel and would probably work better as just a redirect. == Jeff Rovin's How to Win at Super Mario Bros. Games ==

Important note: I recommend someone who owns a copy of this book makes a response.

The book How to Win at Super Mario Bros. Games by Jeff Rovin features walkthroughs for this game and SMB3. I think it would be nice if somewhere online there were a web site talking about errors in this book's SMB walkthrough. There are in fact a few errors I have in my memory:

*Book says: the fifth Fire Bar in 1-4 moves clockwise.
*Truth: the fifth Fire Bar in 1-4 moves counterclockwise.

*Book says: the invisible 1-Up mushroom in 3-1 will be collectible if you're Super Mario and may or may not if you're small Mario.
*Truth: whether the invisible 1-Up mushroom in 3-1 is collectible depends on whether you didn't dodge any coins in 2-3.

*Book says: the underwater section of 8-4 is optional.
*Truth: the underwater section of 8-4 is compulsory.

It would also be nice if MarioWiki had an article on this book; then I could include these errors in the book's walkthrough in the article myself. 99.101.66.106 13:29, August 11, 2021 (EDT)

passed
Remember how, a while back, I proposed that the References to other media section of The Super Mario Bros. Movie should be moved to its own list article? That was because of how long it was and how much space it took up. The References in other media section looks to be of equal length, and should preferably be split into its own list article of the same format.

Just to be clear, I'm not referring to the References to other media section; it's far too short. It's the References in other media section I'm referring to. I'll make a draft in my sandbox later on (currently busy irl) to demonstrate what it would look like. 08:52, September 28, 2024 (EDT)

#ThePowerPlayer Given that Super Mario Bros. is likely the most iconic game in the entire franchise, this is a good opportunity to trim the references section in the main article, since I foresee this list only growing in the future. Also, once split to its own article, images could be added to make the references more immediately clear.
