Shouldn't we merge this article with Super Mario 64? It's simply a remake w/ some newly created challenges, more characters and a slightly different storyline. The powers and levels are still the same, with improved graphics. Wayoshi 20:57, 3 July 2006 (EDT)

Now correct me if I am wrong, but I do not see any articles for Mario's floating power or Yoshi's fire breath. I know there is an article for Bowser's Fire Breath that mentions Yoshi's power-up, but does not even have quarter of the info I would put on a page if it was created. So, to keep consistency I would also create a page for Mario's Power Flower power too. Luigi and Wario's Power Flower powers got merged into their respective articles. So I think both of these power-ups deserve their own page.

Change the level section to include more specific character requirements
I was thinking about maybe making it more specific to show which missions characters can do? I am mostly fine with the current version but if I am allowed to make some changes that would be nice. Specifically, the changes to the character section. I am showing an example of this here. The collapsed table is just to avoid clutter here, and the tag will not be put into the article. Checkmarks stand for missions each character can complete, caps show that a character can complete the mission if a proper cap is collected in the level, and an x indicates that the character cannot enter the level, or if they can (though I don't know if this is even possible unless the character isn't unlocked yet), they cannot complete the mission (this is only done for BBH and character-exclusive levels). Also note that a cap might only be used to overcome an obstacle; once that obstacle is cleared, the character can dispose the cap and finish it using their original selves. For example saying "Mario" for Koopa's Footrace would indicate that only Mario can complete the level, whereas with my chart shown below, it shows that any character can complete it as long as they have the Mario cap on for the race, but they can dispose of it later and complete it as Yoshi, Luigi, or Wario (Koopa even says a unique quite if anyone other than Mario beats him). So to avoid confusion, and to make it more clear which requirements are needed, I propose changing the table (for courses, which are the 15 major levels, at least) to the one shown below.

@Altendo I agree that this arrangement is a lot more pleasing, but personally I think it would look better if you used the cap sprites from the Touch Screen map (), rather than shrunken-down official renders. I'd also make the checkmarks and such 16px, since that's the width of the cap sprites, and put the "|center" tag in the image links to make them look better. Like so:

|Big Bob-omb on the Summit
|Yoshi has to go to the top of the mountain and fight the Big Bob-omb to obtain the Power Star. To do this, Yoshi must slurp Bob-ombs and spit them at him, while the other player characters must pick them up and throw them back at him.

|Footrace with Koopa the Quick
|The player has to race up the mountain against Koopa the Quick. If the player uses the cannons, Koopa considers that cheating, and the player does not receive the Power Star. However, using the warps is not considered cheating.

|5 Silver Stars!
|The player must collect the five Silver Stars scattered around the battlefield. In this mission, a Chain-Chomp is running loose with one of the Silver Stars at the end of its chain. This Star does not appear in the original, replacing Shoot to the Island in the Sky.

|Big Bob-omb's Revenge
|The player has to fight the Big Bob-omb one last time, but this time the player must pick him up and throw him three times. Yoshi cannot fight him this time, unless he uses caps. If the player throws the Big Bob-omb off the mountain, he does not count the throw. This Star does not appear in the original.

Honestly, I don't think this needs a proposal at all. If you have a way to improve the tables, just do it, and see if anyone has any problems with it. If they do, address them. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:55, December 12, 2023 (EST)
:Just for future maintenance's sake I'd rather keep repetition of checkmarks than rowspan them. 02:48, December 16, 2023 (EST)
