: No, you've got it wrong; look at the first picture itself (when it gets revealed). And it's true that the next morning, it's <b>Mario and three Toads</b> that investigate the tree -- which also shows their encountering a letter from Peach saying that she was kidnapped by Bowser. And number two, it <i>does</i> count based on the first picture shown itself that Peach got kidnapped by Bowser as she was investigating the Tail Tree itself (the Super Leaves shown around her and Bowser are a dead giveaway).
