This article implies that the M&L:PiT one is different then the other 2. The one in the PiT one doesn't involve any wishes or anything. They have different Japanese names and etc.

Based on the above section. The old proposal ended up splitting Star Hill on the basis of the Japanese names, but that is often not the final authority on this Wiki (we still have, for example, Chancellor and Toad Minister, Para-Beetle and Parabuzzy, and even Boo Guy to name a few). The fact is that even if the name is written differently, it still an essentially identical translation ([Falling] Star Hill), the game series even in Japan already often uses many different names interchangeably for the same concepts like the Koopa Troop, and any perceived significant differences in terrain or function with its Paper Mario counterpart (which is in the exact spot) can be chalked up to time traveling to its past incarnation.

== Merge/split? ==
I understand that recurring locales change a lot for Mushroom Kingdom so it's generally senseless to make multiple pages on Mushroom Kingdom or Bowser's Castle or Peach's Castle, but key here is recurring. If Star Hill was a commonly recurring location (like Toad Town), then yeah, I can see the argument that it's multiple iterations of the same location, but it's only in three games, with maybe Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG being most related, but the Partners in Time one, it can be easily argued that the location isn't a Mushroom Kingdom locale and developers could've independently came up with two similarish locations (conflicting names in other languages particularly the Partners in Time variant). It simply does not have enough appearances for me to comfortably make a conclusion here.
I bring this up because it's cited a lot in the the controversial [[Talk:Chancellor]] discussion (and I was tempted to cite it again just to turn brain cogs); but, like with Star Hill's limited appearances, Chancellor does also have way too limited appearances and across the two have notable design differences (unlike the shamans) I don't think it's a great example and I while I do see where the support for the merge is coming from, the evidence isn't quite solid enough for me to support a merge though it's compelling enough for me to not support a split either. {{User:Mario/sig}} 02:41, June 29, 2024 (EDT)
