| Yeah, it's definitely called Star Spin. If you talk to all the NPCs during the course of the game, one of them definitely calls it the Star Spin. I forget who says it, but I think it's either a Toad or a Luma near the beginning. I definitely remember it in-game though. I may check myself at some point, but it won't be for a while - got other games to play at the moment. | When you're in Honeybloom galaxy at the part right after a checkpoint (sorry i couldn't be more specific) where there are clouds and flowers and wooden platforms, stand in the water next to the first wooden platform and you'll do a funny spin, flashing all orange. | The ''Mario & Sonic'' games contain recurring instances of characters spinning to a certain end—some explicitly being the same move as ''Galaxy''’s spin, and some only having coinciding features. The [[Dream Spacewalk]] event in the Wii version of ''London 2012'' has players perform a “Spin Attack” to deflect enemy projectiles, with the move [https://youtu.be/Yv4DgDoP9QQ?t=162 being visibly and audibly the same thing we see in ''Galaxy'']. The [[Dream Ski Jumping]] event in the Wii version of ''Olympic Winter Games'' contains a “special action” mechanic that characters perform in unique ways, with Mario in particular [https://youtu.be/peX3E4iyftE?t=93 spinning around while enveloping himself in a blue sparkly trail]; considering the event is a callback to ''Mario Galaxy'' in its entirety, I think it’s safe to take Mario’s special action to be a nod to his signature move in this game as well. So far, these two instances are pretty well established and fit well within the article’s scope.

Now, in the ''London 2012'' version of the event, the correlation isn’t as pregnant, as the [https://youtu.be/STikfvmPKNg?t=27 trail has faint sparkles and looks more like a typical cartoony blur], but ''Rio 2016'' [https://youtu.be/DEO37mkMdMk?t=12 makes the sparkles more pronounced], and ''Tokyo 2020'' [https://youtu.be/dPd6AOUA_Ok?t=63 retains that aesthetic addition to a degree]. | So I opened Super Mario Run for the first time in a while, and I noticed one of the moves in the game, referred to as a "Spin Strike" ("Spin Attack" in Japanese), involves using a [[Midair Spin]] near an enemy to defeat it. I don't remember the move from when I first played, but that might just be bad memory? In any case, it would make sense to cover that in this page, right?
