| Were there any noteable Spiky Goombas? I can't really think of any. | There was one in Paper Mario in Bowser's Castle; he didn't recognize Mario and sold him stuff, but he wasn't named. -- Sir Grodus | | There was one in Paper Mario in Bowser's Castle; he didn't recognize Mario and sold him stuff, but he wasn't named. -- Sir Grodus |

| In Goombario's tattle, it's stated that Spiked Goombas can cause "paralysis". I've played Paper Mario 64 quite a lot and never run into them causing paralysis.. is it programmed in? Or is it simply false? --Green Mario (talk) 23:11, November 17, 2019 (EST)

| In PM:SS, the "Spike Helmet" sticker looks exactly like the helmets Spiked Goombas wear. Someone needs to put this on the page. WillowTehKitsune (talk) 09:04, April 6, 2021 (EDT)

| :I just did. Not to be rude, but you could sometimes add these things yourself. 09:11, April 6, 2021 (EDT)

| EDIT: Where is it? I just checked the page to see where you wrote this, and it isn't showing up.

| == Move to Spiky Goomba? ==
| |
| The remake still refers to them as Spiky Goombas which would mean that it would technically be their current name. ReeceeYT 20:20, June 13, 2024 (EDT)
| |
| :Not sure, the remake kept the same name a lot of enemies had in the original (Swoops even go under the name "Swooper" in the remake which was their name at the time of the original). 20:53, June 13, 2024 (EDT)

| ::I guess we sort of took a silent agreement to ignore unchanged names in Super Mario RPG and The Thousand-Year Doors remakes, but that runs counter to how we've been doing things. We've always considered non-emulated reissues to count as latest appearances and thus recent names. Maybe there needs to be a fine line as to what is "common" enough not to change: I'd throw Bowser's Castle, Yoshi's Island, Big Boo, and Stop Watch out there at least.
