I'm going to make some points why I support this merge. These points are based on appearance, function and name (the three that I feel are the most used points).

On the Spike’s page, it is explained that Spike is a Koopa and a derived species. I took the time to check Spikes’s physic and those of a few Koopas and I do not think Spike are a species of Koopas as it is currently indicated on Spike’s page. Spike’s skin can be green, blue or sky blue in color ([[Spike]], [[Stone Spike]] and [[Snow Spike]]). While Koopas have yellow skin (except [[Morton Koopa Jr.]] apparently). Secondly, I do not think there is a clue or a source which implies that Spike is a Koopa.

Koopas have had [[Spiked Pirate|green]] and [[Kuzzle|blue]] skin too (and [[Shady Koopa|grey]] and [[Pom Pom|red]]), so that point's completely moot. Spikes (and [[Clubba]]s) are both very similar to [[Boom Boom (species)|Boom Boom]] and <s>Dragon-Koopas</s> Bowser's species in design (overall build, snouts, belly scutes in some designs, shells - even shell spikes when you include [[Macho Grubba]] and [[Tubba Blubba]]), and they've always been associated with the Koopa Troop, so it's not an unreasonable connection. There are numerous oddball (yet confirmed) Koopas, like [[Chargin' Chuck]]s, [[Snooze-A-Koopa]]s and [[Spike Koopas]], not to mention the species with far more in common with dragons than Koopa Troopas, and unlike Rocky Wrenches, there's not any other enemy group or even basic animal type to associate them with, nor recent design changes that seem to be distancing them from the Koopas. The fact that Koopa's cousin was named [[Spike (film character)|Spike]] also helps the case they they're supposed to be Koopas in the game too: there were lots of names to choose from, after all. Drawing connections is allowed as long as it's straightforward, logical and helps with organization and comprehension, and while it'd probably be good to note that there hasn't been an explicit confirmation that they're Koopas that we know of (surprisingly), I feel like it'd be going too far to say they're definitely ''not'' Koopas and strip them from all related pages and {{tem|Koopas}}: the simplest answer is usually the right one, and it makes navigation easier to have things associated where people'd expect them to be.

Walkazo , it is not because Spikes are affiliated to the Koopa Troop they are Koopas. [[Shy Guy]] are not Koopas, [[Goombas]] are not Koopas, [[Piranha Plant]]s are not Koopas and a lots of others species are affiliated to the Koopa Troop, but it don't make them Koopas.--{{User:LudwigVon/sig}}  22:49, 13 December 2015 (EST)

Why isn't this called Talk:Spike? The article itself is called Spike. I tried moving it just now, but Talk:Spike is currently a redirect to this page. I would fix this myself, but I'm not sure if cut and pasting everyone's comments is allowed.

I wouldn't be making as much of an issue about this, but there is no redirect to Spike called Spike (enemy), so to get to Spike from this page is more of a hassle than it needs to be. Can we rename this Talk:Spike please? {{User|Magikrazy}}
