Howdy! A while ago, I made a revision to the infobox in this article to reflect what I interpreted as an deliberate relationship to Octoombas, but I noticed that this revision was undone some time ago. I think it should be added back, but because it was a little controversial, I thought I would make my case here.

Personally, I also feel like Slurples were designed to look a bit like Octoomba to lampshade a relationship. They both have a siphon-like mouth, squishy bodies, and sunglass-like patches around their eyes - it's just that a Slurple's are white, whereas the other Octooomba relatives have black patches. Let me know what y'all think! - Nintendo101 (talk) 14:40, August 19, 2022 (EDT)

:Well, I also disagree with describing it as a parent/variant relationship. We don't even do that with Octoomba and Rocto. I'm open to listing Octoomba and Slurple as 'relatives', though. They personally seem to have more in common with Smeeches though, which the German name seemingly notes. ::They do kinda seem like an alien counterpart to the original Micro-Goombas, so I wouldn't be too opposed (Rocto, meanwhile, isn't Goomba-like at all). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:19, August 31, 2022 (EDT)
