And he doesn't retain any of his past memory unlike Mr.L, who slightly remembers the heroes because he nicknames them and the nicknames show his memory (he remembers that Mario jumps all the time, that Peach always gets kidnapped and that Bowser's plans are always foiled by Mario) unless the fact that he says they look fimiliar counts.
