Why aren't the Banjo-Kazooie and Conker series detailed on this wiki?
This question may have already been answered elsewhere, but why aren't the Banjo-Kazooie series and Conker series detailed on this wiki? Since both Banjo and Conker debuted in Diddy Kong Racing, wouldn't that make both series spin-offs of the Mario franchise? -- 08:06, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
:It was decided not to cover the series in this proposal, and there is also a section mentioning it in the coverage policy. -- 08:22, 17 April 2018 (EDT)
::While they first appeared there, both Banjo-Kazooie and Twelve Tales were already in development prior. Even before Diddy Kong Racing was even mean to have Diddy Kong in it. == Move to Rareware? ==
Dis-props to Rare
Wouldn't it make more sense to move this page to Rareware? Not only was it the name used under Nintendo tenure, and this is a wiki about a Nintendo property, but also more people are probably looking for this page with that title than "Rare Ltd.". Should this page be moved? 12:46, October 6, 2024 (EDT)
Honestly, Rare ruined a few donkey kong games! Donkey Kong Racing seemed to look like a good idea, then Rare ruined it. And what they replaced a few games with was terrible! I mean, It's Mr. Pants?! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!? - Warpman, 9:24 1/27/2012
:Rare has had exchanges with Nintendo under the "Rare Ltd." brand, right? Like for handheld remakes and Smash? In that case, the article's probably fine. On the other hand, I think the Nintendo Cube move was a little early. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:11, October 6, 2024 (EDT)
::That is true, but I still believe the name "Rareware", or even "Rare" makes more sense. The "limited" isn't often included in Mario-related media, and anyway, iQue's full company name is "iQue Ltd.", yet we still shorten it to "iQue". What makes Rare so different? 16:00, October 8, 2024 (EDT)

History and Appearances sections
:Dude, you know that Donkey Kong Racing wasn't ruined? Rare was sold to Microsoft and Nintendo kept the rights of the Donkey Kong series, so Rare couldn't continue making that game. Mr. Pants was supposed to be Donkey Kong Coconut Cracker and Banjo Pilot was Diddy Kong Pilot, but because Rare is no longer working for Nintendo, they couldn't continue using the DK series, so they used other series (Mr. Pants and Banjo-Kazooie). PS: Did you at least read the Rare Ltd. page? What I wrote is written on the page!  --Metalex123 (talk) 22:28, 3 June 2014 (EDT)

Shoudn't the "History involving the Super Mario franchise" and "Appearances in the Super Mario universe" sections be merged? They both cover times when Rare has appeared in the games, so I don't see why they should be separate. 1468z (talk) 13:06, December 2, 2024 (EST)

Okay, hear me out here.

I'm not the biggest fan of having this page named as "Rare Ltd." for reasons I'll get too later. But penultimatly; I want this page moved to either Rare of Rareware.

<big>Moving to Rareware</big><br>
The name "Rareware" was used when this company was under Nintendo tenure; and this is a wiki based on a Nintendo character. I also bet "Rareware" is the most common search for this company on this wiki due to this name being used throughout their Donkey Kong releases.

<big>Moving to Rare</big><br>
Let's use iQue for an example here. iQue's full company name is "iQue Ltd.," but for simplicity's sake, as well as it being used and searched for more, we use the name "iQue". Shouldn't this be the same for Rare?

Move to Rareware
#Rykitu Per proposal.

Move to Rare
#Super Mario RPG Secondary choice.
#Altendo Primary choice. Shortening to "Rare" is fine; the link "Rare" redirects here anyways.
#Camwoodstock Per Super Mario RPG; they are not called Rareware anymore, but if we truncate "iQue Ltd." to just "iQue", it should be fine to prune it here too.
#Ahemtoday Per Camwoodstock.
#EvieMaybe per Camwoodstock, too
#Salmancer Rare isn't fictional. I disagree with treating the names of fictional things and real things in the exact same manner. It also appears we're also cutting the Ltd from Nintendo, so I guess that's the wiki stance then.
#PhGuy12 My preferred option. Also, "Rareware" was not the company name; it was a trademark name used for their games.
#Technetium Per Camwoodstock and Salmancer, I'd like consistency with how company article titles are handled. Plus it's not just the two they mentioned, but all of the companies I can think of: Acquire, AlphaDream, ArtePiazza, the list just goes on and on… why is Rare the exception here?

Do nothing
#Super Mario RPG No. Rareware is no longer their current name, and they have officially collaborated on Donkey Kong remakes post-buyout. I don't see any reason to get rid of the "Ltd.", either.
#Altendo Secondary choice. I feel like keeping the current name is fine.
