:::It's the closest thing we've got to an official name, so we ''should'' use it. One question, though: wouldn't "Pump Mario" still be unofficial, since the name from the manga is "Baby Pump"? Using that name would also be incorrect, since adult Mario can also be pumped with water. Any way you could find out if adult Mario gets a name? {{User:Time Turner/sig}}

::::we have the partners in time manga (well only one of them out of the three part.arc) but unfortunately that's all we got in relation to this article since only Baby Mario uses that attack in the game (so of course, the manga covers only the Baby Mario version). Thats the best we can do until someone or us obtains the manga where the form DOES appear in {{User:Baby Luigi/sig}} 17:19, 18 September 2014 (EDT)
== Move ==
I suggest we move this page to either [[Bebī Ponpu]] or [[Baby Pump]] (depending on whether the Japanese text uses English words, as per policy). We have an official name, so it is not acceptable to use a conjectural name. We should, however, keep the partconjecture tag, as this official Japanese name does not cover the adult Mario form. {{User:Banon/sig}} 18:41, 30 December 2015 (EST)
:I'm a month late on this but, I'm not sure if the Baby Mario version is representative of the entire thing, hence why the article is named like that. It's derived from the Japanese translation of Ponpu and named accordingly to what form appears more often, hence why the article is named for the adult Mario version rather than the Baby Mario version. Though if my reasoning sucks, then I won't be opposed to the article being moved to Bebī Ponpu either. {{User:Baby Luigi/sig}} 21:57, 27 January 2016 (EST)
== Spriters Resource filename possibly verifying the name for this ==
The sheet on [https://www.spriters-resource.com/3ds/marioluigisuperstarsagabowsersminions/sheet/97641/ Mario's sprites] for this is called "038f_mario_pump". I'm pretty sure it's not a name the ripper made up because there's some files with Japanese names like "108f_mario_jitabata" and "157f_luigi_kyoro". {{User:Bazooka Mario/sig}} 03:46, March 26, 2021 (EDT)
:Hm, I guess we can source that. This is from Bowser's Minions, the 3DS game so I'm wondering how to access the game's sprites to find that name. {{User:Ray Trace/sig}} 16:49, March 28, 2021 (EDT)
::Would it be possible to get in touch with the uploader to learn the method they used to extract/decompress the sprites? [[User:LinkTheLefty|LinkTheLefty]] ([[User talk:LinkTheLefty|talk]]) 08:04, August 25, 2022 (EDT)
:::Perhaps. I looked into the file system for the game and I'm going to assume the sprites are located in compressed .dat files (the obj folder seems like where we need the find the relevant sprites). In the meantime there IS a pump-related file called "STRM_SE_PUMP_MARIO_KUSUGURI.bcstm" but I'm not sure the context for the noise. The sfx files I'm going to guess are in another compressed file, SndDat.bcsar. Anyway I'm sure those dat files have been extracted, hence why we have so many sprites from these games. {{User:Bazooka Mario/sig}} 22:54, August 25, 2022 (EDT)
::::Update: [[User talk:Sno|Sno]] has looked into ''Superstar Saga'' remake assets, and the conclusion seems to be that the sprites with "pump" in the title seem to be describing specific actions. However, the closest thing to naming it Pump Mario seems to be that "STRM_SE_PUMP_MARIO_KUSUGURI.bcstm" file, which is the audio of pumped Mario reacting to Luigi's "tickle" with water sound effects. Perhaps that suffices? [[User:LinkTheLefty|LinkTheLefty]] ([[User talk:LinkTheLefty|talk]]) 10:51, July 30, 2023 (EDT)
:::::I think the "mario_pump" filenames should count, considering there's also "luigi_mog" for "[[Dunk Hammer|Mogu Luigi]]". [[User:Blinker|Blinker]] ([[User talk:Blinker|talk]]) 11:06, October 23, 2023 (EDT)
::::::Maybe cite the reference along the lines of "<nowiki><ref></nowiki>From ''Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions'' internal filenames, including <tt>content0.game/romfs/Snd/stream/STRM_SE_PUMP_MARIO_KUSUGURI.bcstm</tt><nowiki></ref></nowiki>"? [[User:LinkTheLefty|LinkTheLefty]] ([[User talk:LinkTheLefty|talk]]) 23:37, October 27, 2023 (EDT)
:::::::Sounds good to me. [[User:Blinker|Blinker]] ([[User talk:Blinker|talk]]) 08:54, October 28, 2023 (EDT)
