Does PictoChat itself really warrant an article? It seems to me that this should just be trimmed down to the Smash stage. -- 12:35, November 30, 2020 (EST)

:I think Pictochat coverage could just be add on the Nintendo DS article itself, while keeping only the information about Smash. Pictochat isn't something that is Mario-related in any form, so I really don't think having an article regarding Pictochat as a whole is necessary. So yeah, I agree to trim it down only for the Smash coverage--

We should certainly say where PictoChat comes from, but our coverage should be focused on the stage. The app information can go on Nintendo DS's article. 14:35, November 30, 2020 (EST)

So coming back to this, we're all pretty much in agreement for this article to cover just the Brawl stage, right? -- 13:07, January 10, 2021 (EST)

Okay, so we are going to a point that we should have a proposal about keeping the PictoChat service, or if we need to redirect it (partially or fully). If anyone doesn't know the guidelines, this is what I am talking about.<br><br>Fully redirect: Everything mentioned is required to be redirected.<br>Partial redirect: Some content mentioned is required to get redirected<br>Keep it: Leave the article alone<br><br>

Update: The proposal is updated, removed delete because it is bucky<br><br>

Redirect all of the PictoChat service mentions
Full Redirect
#Benjaminkirsc: I propose to redirect to Nintendo DS article section titled PictoChat.
#Benjaminkirsc: I propose to redirect to Nintendo DS article section titled PictoChat.
#Ninja Squid: Per proposal. A simple redirect to the DS article, while keeping only the Super Smash Bros. coverage seems to be the best action overall.

#Waluigi Time Apparently this is the option that was agreed upon in the above discussion.
#DarkNight Per all.

Partial Redirect
Redirect part of the PictoChat service mentions
#Ray Trace I feel like we should keep an overview on what PictoChat is based off of in the intro with basic information pertaining to it, but sure, the extended coverage in the "Using PictoChat" section should be merged with both the intro of the article and part of the Nintendo DS article, which this article should link to in its "article about" segment on the top.

Keep
Keep it
#Alex95 - I'm going to oppose on the grounds of there being absolutely no information here. What do you mean by redirect partially? What information would be moved off? Why would we delete it altogether? "we should plan" is not something to make a proposal about, you make a proposal when you have a plan and need to figure out a path to take on it. If you wanted a plan, the discussion above should've continued, or expand on this proposal to give details on what exactly it is you want to happen.

Anyone who further questions about the policy must look at the policy about redirecting at the top. Benjaminkirsc (talk) 12:10, December 6, 2020 (EST)

: I'm still lost about what's going on here. The new "explanations" are essentially just the options reworded and don't really answer any questions. There's still no explanation on what "some" content is that would be removed. All I want is to have the page trimmed to solely focus on the Brawl stage, with a brief mention of its origins - what option do I have to vote for to get that? -- 13:18, December 6, 2020 (EST)

:: @Waluigi Time, Did you read what I wrote clearly? If you want me to make the opinions more clear, fine. Then if you want to say "All I want is to have the page trimmed to solely focus on the Brawl stage" I would like for you to say that you want to redirect all of the PictoChat services mentions to the Nintendo DS article. Also, examples for the "some" part include the overview, the trivia, etc (I put it up there so it could be easier to read). If you are still confused, we can talk about it on my talk page. Beforehand, I'll clean up this proposal here. Benjaminkirsc (talk) 15:02, December 6, 2020 (EST)

:::So if "full redirect" removes all non-Smash content from this page, what does "partial redirect" do? You already mentioned the overview and trivia would be moved under a partial redirect, does the "Using PictoChat" section also get moved in a partial redirect? If so, both options do exactly the same thing. -- 16:49, December 6, 2020 (EST)
:::: Partial redirect partially removes some information that may not be needed from the page<br>Since this reaction of getting into confusion, I have to merge the "full redirect" and "partial redirect" into "redirect" to make it easier for people to vote. Deal or do you want the split it again? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 17:18, December 6, 2020 (EST)
