"Yellow Toad is known simply as Toad in this game"
I've tried to remove this info once before, but it was reverted presumably because I wasn't clear enough in my edit summary.  I didn't want to start an edit war, so I posted here instead.  This particular info should be removed.  Both Toads have always been known as "Toad" in-game, in the manuals, and on the nintendo.com game descriptions.  Yellow Toad was never known as "Yellow Toad" in the original NSMBU, and even if some Prima guide called him "Yellow Toad", the information is still irrelevant as in-game he is simply known as Toad.  This is not a difference from the original game, and as the original NSMBU also called him "Toad", this info should be removed. - 22:08, 3 October 2018 (EDT)

:Never mind, I just removed the info from the "differences" section, as it's completely irrelevant there.  I'll leave it in the main intro paragraph for now, but I'll remove that as well if the final version never calls him by name (much like the Wii U version). - 15:44, 19 October 2018 (EDT)

:::::I understand.  It doesn't count as an in-game difference though, and just because they called him "Toad" in the Direct does not mean that the actual product will call him "Toad".  Outside of the NSMBW manual, he has always been called "Toad", not "Yellow Toad".  Saying that he's now known simply as Toad just seems unnecessary, and we don't even know that for certain. - 02:00, 21 October 2018 (EDT)

Since the New Super Mario Bros. subseries has always been a constant series within the Super Mario series, is it worth giving the subseries its own page?

::We do, however, have a page for the "Super Mario Land" series, and given Yoshi's New Island is certainly of the same refrain, I'd consider it to be a part of this "subseries" as well. (It uses models and animations out the wazoo from NSMB2.) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:01, 4 October 2018 (EDT)

:I haven't played the game, but I've seen some videos. Deluxe is a collection of both Wii U titles, so it makes sense that Mario can be played in Luigi levels. I'll see if someone else can add to this, though. 11:49, March 16, 2020 (EDT)

* "In New Super Mario Bros. U, the red Toad Houses with the shuffle mini-games have some items changed. Several Super Stars have been replaced by Super Crowns, while in New Super Luigi U, the 1-Up Mushrooms are now 3-Up Moons."
* "In New Super Mario Bros. U, the stars on the player's profile will remain shiny, even if the player activated the Super Guide before."
New Super Mario Bros. U or New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe? If it is New Super Mario Bros. U, please add something like "but remove in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe". --58.176.43.120 03:36, June 1, 2022 (EDT)

I know that shaking the Joycon in Super Mario Bros. Wonder made you do a mid air twirl, is there no feature here? 18:17, July 3, 2024 (EDT)
