Officially, "Mini-Game" is a proper noun and the word is split with a hyphen in between, which means the M and G are both uppercase. --PrincessDaisyFanatic3883 18:06, 15 March 2012 (EDT)

Super Mario Bros. 2 & 3 minigames?
What would constitute as a minigame? It makes me wonder if something like the Slot Machines in Mario 2 or the Card Matching game in Mario 3 would constitute as such. Should we add them to the list of minigames or is there some type of criteria that prevents them from being in this article? I'd like to know. == Superstar Showdown ==
Is Superstar Showdown considered a boss minigame?

:Not in the same way as 9, Island Tour etc. but it is categorised as a "Last" minigame in-game, so maybe it can have its own section and a note on how it's similar to a Boss minigame. 21:19, 13 May 2018 (EDT)

Should we create a section for Mic Minigames and explain how they work in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7? Mari0fan100 (talk) 21:36, July 15, 2024 (EDT)
:This category is certainly missing in this page. 22:03, July 15, 2024 (EDT)
::I've added information about those minigames now. Mari0fan100 (talk) 02:44, August 29, 2024 (EDT)

Loosen the definition of minigames such that most Gaddgets and Souvenirs become minigames.
I have a problem. :Category:Rock paper scissors feels like it should be a subcategory of :Category:Minigames. But there's a Gaddget in Rock paper scissors, and Gaddgets aren't minigames. There are two potential solutions to this: turn Rock paper scissors into an article so that it can be categorized in :Category:game mechanics, or redefine minigame. I obviously think the latter is the best choice. Video games are defined by being interactive, not by the ability to win them and get rewarded as this article's intro says about minigames. As such, I think a minigame is simply "a smaller video game within a video game". The intro on this article should be changed to match, and Gaddgets that have any kind of control should be considered minigames. Souvenirs from the WarioWare series with controls also become minigames under this criteria. Salmancer (talk) 19:12, February 24, 2025 (EST)
