Are we sure this isn't some generic object that isn't notable enough to get its own article? I don't see Pogo sticks from Mario Party 7 having their own articles. Even something not generically named like the Hop-O-Matic 4000 doesn't have its own article. 20:11, 6 November 2016 (EST)

:I don't think Robo Rabbits even have their own article either, even though they're a pretty important and unique gameplay object in Super Duel Mode from Mario Party 5. Honestly, this article should be merged with the minigame they appear in. 20:14, 6 November 2016 (EST)

Why does this article exist? This is just one of many dime-a-dozen one-shot Mario Party minigame elements which don't warrant articles (just like the MPDS Bowser Bomb, which is also on its way out). It doesn't even have a real name, just a one-off descriptive term that isn't even consistent between the game's English localizations. We don't have articles on the bug vehicles from Insectiride, the bees from Buzzstormer, the mechs from Mario Mechs, etc. There's also stuff like the Koopa Tanks from Shell Shocked and the Maze Manufactory from Lab Brats, which actually do have proper names but don't have articles. The only exception I can think of is the Spike Koopas from Key-pa-Way, which are a living, breathing species. The mechanical crickets don't have that excuse, therefore I fail to see any reason for them to have an article when all those other things I mentioned don't.

Personally, if they can fill a space under :Category:Species, they're fine by me. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:01, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
:Well, they can't, since they're not a species. They're just vehicles designed to resemble a cricket/grasshopper. 20:06, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
::Robots count under those with animate objects, and if they're designed after a specific species, we count them as well (see how Robo-Mouse is in :Category:Rodents, to which it does indeed belong). I'd also consider that Wiggler Bus should go under :Category:Wigglers, myself. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:38, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
:::Can they really be considered a species if they only really exist as something players control? If anything, they're machines, and nothing more. (oh, and you misspelled "its" as "it's", unless you meant that Bowser Bomb was on it is way out.) Keegster2 (talk) 23:32, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
:::I find it odd that you're bringing up the Wiggler Bus, since if you hadn't, that's the very example I would've used for a comparison, as it is not alive nor is it robotic. It's a bus. If the Wiggler Bus is a Wiggler, then so is the Wild Wiggler. And the Dolphin Dasher is a Dolphin, the Super Blooper is a Blooper, the Quacker is a duck, the Bullet Blaster, Bullet Bike, and Road Jetter are Bullet Bills, etc. The mechanical crickets are the same deal. There's a difference between 100% non-automatic machines and robotic species like Mechakoopas and Mecha-Chomps. 02:49, 24 March 2018 (EDT)
