There are a lot of sections in this article that say, "This is exclusive to Star Battle" when it is also in a regular Duel Battle. Shouldn't this be changed to "This is exclusive to Duel Battle"? After all, Star Battle is just six Duel Battles and a Boss Battle. -YoshiFlutterJump (talk) 17:58, 18 April 2017 (EDT)

:I haven't played the game in a while, so my memory may be fuzzy, but I remember some things being exclusive to Star Battle and some being exclusive to Duel Battle. Regardless, if it's in two different modes, then the information is incorrect and should be corrected/removed. 18:37, 18 April 2017 (EDT)
::Okay. I just need to play a Duel Battle to make sure, then I will fix it. Thanks! -YoshiFlutterJump (talk) 18:41, 18 April 2017 (EDT)

Why does the save file have different icons? Revilime (talk) 10:32, 26 July 2017 (EDT)
50 Hz
I noticed that my copy of the game only supports 50Hz. Do we know if this is applied to all copies of the game or just some versions, and if the game only runs in 50 Hz should this be mentioned in the article? Trainer Alex (talk) 13:23, 30 July 2018 (EDT)
:From my knowledge, Japanese and American versions use the 60Hz signal, while European versions generally use 50Hz. This particular game, though, slows down gameplay a teensy bit in 50Hz, which can make some scenes out-of-sync with the music; particularly the introduction scene to Paint Misbehavin'. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 14:32, 30 July 2018 (EDT)
::Yes, I actually noticed that the "Very Hard" CPUs tend to perform worse in certain minigames on my copy than they do in YouTube footage of the NTSC version (I have PAL). My theory is that since only 50 inputs can be made in the PAL version, this forces the Very Hard CPUs to not perform as well on minigames that are affected by this. Trainer Alex (talk) 15:29, 30 July 2018 (EDT)
:::Interesting. I've never fought any Very Hard CPUs on Mario Party 8 before. This should definitely be noted in the article, but I'm not sure where it should be placed. Maybe inside a Regional differences section. Let's see what other users think about this first, though. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 16:23, 30 July 2018 (EDT)
Controversy Section
I'm just wondering, if the controversy section doesn't belong on the main page, where exactly should it go? Just because it's historical information doesn't necessarily mean it shouldn't be covered on the Wiki somewhere. MarioComix (talk) 21:10, July 14, 2021 (EDT)
:We have a page for just that, which already mentions Mario Party 8 on it. 21:13, July 14, 2021 (EDT)
::To be honest I have to agree with MarioComix here, I see no reason why it shouldn’t be mentioned on this page considering this is the game it’s about. Unless of course there was some discussion on the forums and/or discord about this that I don’t know about :P Somethingone (talk) 21:24, July 14, 2021 (EDT)
:::I must admit that it does still seem like the sort of thing that would be suitable for this page, but I just wanted to mention the controversy page's existence. 21:40, July 14, 2021 (EDT)
::Okay, as long as the information was still moved somewhere (i.e. to the controversy page, which I didn't know existed). And whether we want to briefly touch upon the controversy on this page and then link to the relevant section on the controversy page is a different question to ask that probably needs something consistent decided upon throughout the Wiki. MarioComix (talk) 00:27, July 15, 2021 (EDT)
:::Well now it’s back on the main page and I have to ask, why was it removed in the first place? Somethingone (talk) 21:59, July 15, 2021 (EDT)
Tag-Team Names in Various Languages:
The currently existing table is a clean way of presenting the names on the main Mario Party 8 page, and in my opinion should definitely be kept. However, as far as the inclusion of the French names in the table, there's a problem. Listing all the names of the teams in the various languages the game released in is a good idea and should be done, but they shouldn't all go in the table since the bloat would be ridiculous. So what I'd propose is making a page for the Mario Party 8 team names, and moving the list of French names to the Names in Other Languages section of that page.Drake Inferno (talk) 21:10, August 3, 2024 (EDT)
:I'd support that, considering we made a page for other languages for Message Block hints in Yoshi's New Island, Tourist Tips from Super Mario World, and I believe Odyssey also has its own dedicated page. 21:19, August 3, 2024 (EDT)
::Sorry for the trouble, I'm not very used to the functions of a wiki like this, but how would I go about making a page with a table like that? I tried looking at the structure of some of the pages you mentioned, but couldn't seem to get it right when I tried to replicate it. Sorry once again.
