Not sure how things are exactly formatted here on this wiki but the very first paragraph of this wiki article is completely false. A kart's 'Items' stat in Mario Kart DS has absolutely zero effect on the quality of items received in any race no matter what mode, hence why there's only one table for items. The only thing the 'Items' stat affects is the number of mushrooms given to the player in time trial mode. There are three different values 33, 66 and 100 which correspond to 1, 2 or 3 mushrooms. {{unsigned|Puddings}}
