The ballon battle item distributions seem to be dependant on the number of inflated balloons. Column number one represents the distribution which is used if the player has three balloons, the second column is used for two balloons and the last one for a single balloon. However, the problem is I don't have a reference, I only have my own experience from playing the game for over 10 years, so I don't think I can add this to the article... So, what do you think, should this be added? [[User:Semako|Semako]] ([[User talk:Semako|talk]]) 12:40, 7 October 2017 (EDT)

== Incorrect information in the first two sentences ==
Not sure how things are exactly formatted here on this wiki but the very first paragraph of this wiki article is completely false. A kart's 'Items' stat in Mario Kart DS has absolutely zero effect on the quality of items received in any race no matter what mode, hence why there's only one table for items. The only thing the 'Items' stat affects is the number of mushrooms given to the player in time trial mode. There are three different values 33, 66 and 100 which correspond to 1, 2 or 3 mushrooms. {{unsigned|Puddings}}

The part about Mission 6-4 in the introduction is wrong, that mission actually uses the single shroom distribution 2.
The special distributions in the chart are present in the following missions
Distribution 1 (bananas only) - Completely unused in the game, no item box has this distribution
Dist. 2 (single shroom only) - Missions 1-3, 2-4, 2-7, 4-6, 5-3, 5-5, 6-4, 7-8 and below the trucks on 7-Boss
Dist. 3 (triple shroom only) - Missions 1-7, 1-Boss, 4-3, 4-4, 5-1, 6-5, 6-Boss and 7-3
Dist. 4 (star only) - Missions 1-4, 2-8, 3-1, 6-2 and the moving item box on 7-Boss
Dist. 5 (triple greens + greens 0.5%) - only in Mission 7-4 and operates under a special condition in which it will always give you triple greens if you are holding no items or a single green shell behind you but will only give you a single green shell if you have triple green shells actively deployed around your kart.
Dist.6 (bananas and single shrooms) - cannot find an instance of this being used in the game.
Dist. 7 (triple shrooms, shroom, redx1 0.5%) - Surprisingly no instance of this in the game, very similar to distribution 8 which adds a star into the roulette, likely went unused in favor of the version with a star.
Dist. 8 (triple shrooms, shroom, star, red shell) - Missions 3-4, 4-1 (all boxes), 5-8, 6-8 and 7-2
Dist. 9 (bob-omb only) - Missions 2-6 and 5-Boss
Dist. 10 (green shell, triple greens, bob-omb) - only used in Mission 4-2
Dist. 11 (green shell only) - Missions 2-Boss and 3-6.
Again, not sure how things operate on this wiki but I've been reading this article for years and have always been bothered by the unclear or incorrect information present. {{unsigned|Puddings}}
