Because searching and linking these games are such a pain in the ass. Should the firrerent colored Yoshi be included in the "Playable Characters" section? They appear as playable characters in the Download Play version of the 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games in Medley Match. I think the colors playable in it are: Green, Red, Blue and Yellow. I don't know exactly, since I don't even have the game at all. One friend of mine does, but I gave my 3DS to service, and decided to get it back, since it has some small flaws that don't really matter. I would probably bring some confusion when including them or something, since only the full playable characters who are not reskins of another character are included on the list (unless they appeared as full seperate characters at least once, e.g. the multi-colored Yoshis from Mario Tennis Open). What does this statement mean? The way I read it, the games are being criticized for taking place...in the countries where the Olympics take place? What? Apperently, [[Mario & Sonic]] redirects to this page, which i think does not make sense because we do not have any other thing called simply "Mario &  Sonic" (unlike other subjects like [[Mario & Luigi]] or [[Super Mario]]), and while we have the games who their names who their names start with "Mario & Sonic", i think this takes piority over the games, especially with [[Mario & Sonic]] redirecting here. :The reason that [[Mario & Sonic]] redirects here and this uses a series identifier is that [[MarioWiki:Naming#Shared titles|MarioWiki:Naming]] states that whether or not the title is shared, series pages should always have the identifier. I don’t feel turning it into a disambig page is necessary if no other subject uses the exact title. This is something I've stated in [[Category talk:Game series#Comments|a couple]] [[Talk:DK (series)|discussions before]], but let's put this center stage for once.

I feel that this article should be renamed to "''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'' (series)". To reiterate, and expand upon what I've previously said: all the games in the series have taken place at the Olympic Games (whether it be Summer Games or Winter Games), and feature the words "at the Olympic Games" in the title. Moreover, they're all pretty similar in concept and gameplay as well, being a bunch of minigames based on the sports that are being held during the Olympics, sometimes with some party game-esque side modes, an adventure side mode, and/or bonus collectibles; but in essence, it's an Olympic sports-themed minigame collection.

The current title, "''Mario & Sonic'' (series)", does not imply something as specific as this; it's a bit too broad of a title, especially since ''all'' the titles in the series specifically include "at the Olympic Games" in their titles. The current title implies that there's more ''Mario & Sonic'' crossover titles out there, which may ''not'' all be Olympics-themed, and considering the two franchises involved are two of the most prolific platformer/adventure game series out there, a title like ''Mario & Sonic'' (series) may imply the existence of a more conventional platformer/adventure crossover game involving the two series; however, such a game does not exist yet, and the series is nearly not as broad as the current title implies: literally ''all the titles in the series'' are Olympic minigame collections and include "at the Olympic Games" in their titles. So why is the title like this? Well, I cannot help but feel that the current title was simply chosen for ''brevity'' (and ''maybe'' futureproofing? I get that the current, broader title would allow games to be included that aren't Olympic-themed).

I understand that "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games" is quite a mouthful, and that's literally the shortest title in the series. However, after we've had [[Talk:The Old Psychic Lady with the Evil Eye Who Reads Fortunes and Knows Everything Before It Happens#Move to The Old Psychic Lady with the Evil Eye Who Reads Fortunes and Knows Everything Before it Happens (take two)|a proposal a while ago]] about moving another brief but rather inaccurate title, "The Old Psychic Lady", to its more complete (and thus more accurate) form of "[[The Old Psychic Lady with the Evil Eye Who Reads Fortunes and Knows Everything Before It Happens]]", which happens to be ''even longer of a title'' than "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games" ever could've been, I don't think brevity is an excuse anymore. As far as I'm concerned, this is not the full title of the series.

As for any potential futureproofing argument, even if we did get a ''Mario & Sonic'' game in the future that's ''not'' an Olympics game, would that one game ''really'' justify keeping all the Olympics games under the current name? Remember, there are already six to ''ten'' mainline entries in the ''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'' series, and two additional arcade-exclusive titles (and I think a few mobile titles that ''only'' include the Sonic cast?), so that one hypothetical non-Olympics ''Mario & Sonic'' title would be the outlier in this case. Even if this hypothetical title would get more entries anyway, there's enough ''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'' titles out there to deserve its own page regardless. If we do get more ''Mario & Sonic'' entries that are different from the current Olympics-themed titles, we could always convert the redirect into a full-fledged article centered around ''those'' hypothetical titles instead.

In short, I think moving this page to "''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'' (series)" would be more accurate considering all the names of the titles in this series, and what these titles are about.

Also something to take in mind is that technically only two of the titles (4 if all versions are included) contain the title "''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games''" uninterrupted, that being the original and Tokyo 2020. ''Mario & Sonic at the '''Winter''' Olympic Games'', ''Mario & Sonic at the '''London 2012''' Olympic Games'', ''Mario & Sonic at the '''Sochi 2014 Winter''' Olympic Games'' and ''Mario & Sonic at the '''Rio 2016''' Olympic Games'' are all interrupted, and Rio gets even more complex when you consider ''Mario & Sonic at the '''Rio 2016''' Olympic Games '''Arcade Edition'''''. As far as I've seen, it's fairly uncommon for subtitles to be placed in the middle of titles, and even if we didn't have the official source, simply ''Mario & Sonic'' seems more consistent with the titling of individual games in the series.
