I think there's enough Mario references in WIR for it to have it's own article, what do you think?

:There are a number of references, but it looks like the only appearances of Mario stuff is Bowser and the Super Mushroom, the information of which are already on their respective pages. Shouldn't be a new article just for a paragraph or so of references. 16:01, 23 May 2018 (EDT)

Wish (2023)
Does anyone think that the Star from the upcoming Disney movie Wish resembles the Lumas from the Mario games? 209.122.140.41
:While yes, they do look similar, I highly doubt that it's an intentional reference, nor that Lumas are the first to use such design. That's like anything that's square and has a ? on it is a reference to the ? Block. 09:24, October 1, 2023 (EDT)
Maybe This Time (2014, Filipino film)
This has been stuck in my head for a while, but I did hear the Super Mario Bros. coin sound effect being used when Stephanie does her PowerPoint presentation at some point in the film. I don't remember the timestamp sadly since I mostly saw it from Philippine television, but I do vividly remember where it played. -- EleCyon (talk) 23:21, October 10, 2023 (EDT)

Please watch Secret Headquaters because there is a Super Mario Reference 103.200.32.6
:Can you please specify what scene or timestamp it is? 11:28, December 7, 2023 (EST)

Split physical appearances in major film and television into a
Settled TPP
cancelled<small>I realize now that a different sort of split would make more sense.</small>
In my opinion, a reference in film and/or television would be something in the vein of the references listed from Dooly the Little Dinosaur, in which Dooly appears costumed as Mario at one point. I believe this is different from the appearance of Bowser in Wreck-It Ralph, which is an actual physical appearance of a Super Mario character in a film not explicitly created by Nintendo. Because of this, I think physical appearances of characters who are explicitly stated to be characters from Super Mario games (such as Bowser's aforementioned cameo and Mario's appearances in Family Guy) into a separate .
I am currently drafting said article, and I will provide a list of affected sections as soon as I have finished.

Split appearances
#Nelsonic Per proposal.
Keep appearances
#Hewer I think this is an arbitrary line to draw and splits up the page in an unhelpful way. A physical appearance doesn't make it any less a reference, and such appearances may include other references as well - for example, the current Wreck-It Ralph section talks about various other Mario references in addition to the Bowser appearance. I think it makes more sense to keep all of that information in one place. And why would we only do this for films and TV and not any other media?
Comment appearances
@Hewer Good point. Nelsonic (talk) 13:20, March 26, 2025 (EDT)
