See section above. First off, I want to be very clear that this is NOT the same proposal as this similar one that failed a few months back. While that proposal was about completely removing quotation marks from all instances of song names, this one is narrower and is only about removing them from track listings. Affected pages are every page on the list of albums, plus List of Super Mario tracks on Nintendo Music.

To reiterate, this proposal has nothing to do with usage of quotation marks in running text, it is only about usage in lists of track names. The track lists on the main Nintendo Music page in the sections about playlists will also be unaffected, since the quotation marks actually serve a purpose there (to separate the track names from the game titles).

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about the various sound test pages. Currently, zero of these use the quotation marks, so they'd be unaffected by option 1, but I suppose they'd have them added for consistency if option 2 were to pass.

#Hewer Per proposal.
#Hewer Per proposal.
#Camwoodstock "Per proposal. The point about double quotation marks in particular is worth noting, especially since those tend to be included on Nintendo Music."

#Arend Pick a physical CD album from your soundtrack library, take a gander at its tracklist on the back of the case or booklet, and tell me if all the tracks names have quotation marks around them. (Also, should we extend this to TV series? The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 has quotation marks listed for all its episodes AND songs within the tables)
#EvieMaybe consistency "ftw"!
#Super Mario RPG Per all.
#Rykitu "Per all".
#ThePowerPlayer ""Per all"".
#Nintendo101 Per proposal. The "Hurry Up!" thing in the table bugs me too, and I appreciate that the proposal retains the application of quotation marks in body paragraphs for music tracks, episodes, etc.
#Dive Rocket Launcher I "support" this "proposal" per the "proposal's" "reasoning".
#Ahemtoday Feel like I should have voted on this way sooner than I did, given I'm the author of the much broader proposal mentioned here. These listings are one of the most egregious places I dislike them in. I think I'd also like a similar proposal dealing with navboxes and other places where song and episode titles appear on their own.
#Kaptain Skurvy "Per all."
#SComic ""Per all!""
#Technetium """Per all."""

I guess there's also things like List of records in WarioWare: D.I.Y. and the song lists on pages for rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix and Donkey Konga. These don't currently use quotation marks, but may be changed if the second option were to win (the record lists probably wouldn't at least, since we don't normally use quotation marks for those even in running text). 18:13, February 4, 2025 (EST)

@Arend: I wouldn't be opposed to that, but a funny thing there is that the List of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 songs oddly doesn't use quotation marks for the songs despite being written in prose, while the episode titles do use them. Then again, maybe they're part of the "missing punctuation" mentioned by the rewrite template at the top. 19:46, February 4, 2025 (EST)
