| Is that possible? activating the pipes connected to Boo's Mansion and Yoshi's Village requires the Super Boots and Sushie respectively, but once you get them Jr. Troopa immediately appears in the Forever Forest fork and the sea between Toad Town and Lavalava Island. Note that you need to return to Toad Town to activate the pipes. It's impossible to activate the pipes near Boo's Mansion and in Yoshi's Village from there in the first place. (Except if you use glitches.) | What dictates Jr. Troopa's form changes in his final battle? Is it that once he loses a certain amount of health in one go he changes, or is it that once he is below a certain HP? Is he able to skip forms? Which forms get which moves? Jdrawer (talk) 00:22, 17 December 2018 (EST)

| == Strategy Guide ==
| |
| : The strategy guide indicates that Jr. Troopa isn't fought in Chapters 3 and 5 until the end of said chapters instead of when you get the Super Boots/Sushie respectively. Probably because you'd have no real reason to go back to the Forever Forest/Toad Town Docks before you beat the respective chapters... | ::He definitely does appear at the points mentioned in the article, clarified myself in my latest playthrough. 06:08, January 9, 2023 (EST)

| ::: Yeah, I know. I was just relating what the strategy guide has listed (and this is the same strategy guide which calls the Bucket and Scarf "Marvelous Bucket" and "Fabulous Scarf" which makes me think that it was maybe written during the pre-release days). Plus, they say Jr. Troopa uses all of his tricks in his final battle whereas YouTube videos show him just using a few (normal, winged with spikes, wand). | ::::The guide is also wrong about the last battle; everytime I play matches with what you described from YouTube videos. 13:23, January 9, 2023 (EST)

| I know the English script literally names him "Jr. Troopa" (in one of the rare moments they prioritize "Troopa" over "Koopa" as they should for K.T.'s, but I digress), but the Japanese name for him, "Kowappa," appears to play of "Koopa"/"Kuppa" - Bowser's name, and is not even remotely related to "Nokonoko" - Koopa Troopa's name, and indeed most named K.T.'s in the game use "Noko" in the Japanese script, with the only exception I can think of offhand being Kolorado (EDIT: And Kooper, misremembered his JP name as being what Koops' is). This isn't all, as his face and expressions actually appear to be drawn based off Baby Bowser's sprites in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (particularly the mouth shape, and the eyes/brows), and look substantially different from any "other" Koopa Troopas in the game, lacking the hooked beak and such in favor of a more rounded muzzle. Confusing the issue further is his use of bat wings rather than bird wings like a Paratroopa would have, and then gaining traits of Spike Tops and Magikoopas later - though the wand could also be a nod to the Koopalings. The only physical traits he has that are more similar to Troopas than to the Bowser-type Koopas are being completely yellow (from the small amount of his body we see) and wearing shoes. At the very least, he could be treated as an "ambiguous" case like Tutankoopa currently is. | :I can agree to classifying him as an unsorted Koopa clan member. However, names aside, is there any indication he's a member of the Koopa clan to begin with? Judging by his sprites, he doesn't even seem have a shell. I realize Unshelled Koopas are a thing, but still... <small>Also, I have to point out that Kooper's Japanese name isn't a "Noko" pun. The Koopa Troopa party member.</small> Blinker (talk) 10:46, December 28, 2024 (EST)
| |
| ::That egg's covering up so much it's hard to tell (and to be fair, that's a "shell" of a different type), though the Baby Bowser sprite influence is still definitely there. (He's kind of a proto-Bowser Jr., much like Koopa Kid, but much more different in appearance and affiliation.) <small>Misremembered Kooper as having Koops' JP name...</small> Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:59, December 28, 2024 (EST)

| :::There are a few sprites that show about half of his back, and if he were to have a shell, it would pretty much have to be on his butt, which seems unlikely. Blinker (talk) 13:28, February 21, 2025 (EST)
