Okay, I bet there will be lots of opposes, but I don't care; I think Giant Goomba information should be split from this article. I started to think about it when I read the first appearance of Giant Goombas in SSBB's trophy description, which contains Super Mario 64 (And YES, I am aware that SSBB trophy descriptions contain errors, like Baby Mario's doesn't have overalls. This changed in Europe to a 'stache, but that Giant Goomba's first appearance is still the same). Grand Goombas first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, so it sounded kinda fishy.

:I agree with Arend, not on the proposal, I'm undecided about that, but Zero, your logic is incorrect. Different sizes of things could mean different species. Marioguy1

SMG
Don't the Grand Goombas in SMG seem a little to big to be "Grand"? They seem more like Mega Goombas to me.
IGGY7735
But they seem to be called Grand Goombas in that game.--Knife 17:14, 11 February 2011 (EST)
Split Grand Tail Goomba from Grand Goomba
Settled TPP
green
I don't understand why we have these two merged I mean all the other enemies with tails have seperate articles Tail Goomba, Tail Boo, Tail Bob-omb, and Tail Bullet Bill. But Grand Tail Goomba's are merged with Grand Goomba despite the fact that Grand Goomba's aren't even in Super Mario 3D Land.

Split
#Raven Effect Per my proposal
#Tails777 Per Raven Effect and LeftyGreenMario's comment.
#Commander Code-8 Definitely needs to be merged like any other subspecies, sub-subspecies are still included.
#LeftyGreenMario As long as we retain some information in this article, a split is what we need.
#Lakituthequick Per all.
#UltraMario3000 Per all.
#FourPaperHeroes Per all.
#yoshiyoshiyoshi per all

Keep Merged
Comments
I think we should retain the information, though, technically, they are Grand Goombas. I mean, we should create a new article on the Grand Tail Goomba, but keep the information in this article. Then, we can say in this article, "However, only this variation of the Grand Goomba appears." 19:46, 7 March 2012 (EST)
:It should be mentioned that while Grand Goombas don't appear in SM3DL a sub-species called Grand Tail Goombas does (are something like that) Raven Effect
::Yeah, that's what I want. I'm afraid that the split would remove all information on this appearance of the Grand Goomba. 19:57, 7 March 2012 (EST)
Mario Kart 7
Are these Goombas in Mushroom Gorge and Piranha Plant Slide from Mario Kart 7 actually Grand Goombas or are they improperly proportioned Goombas? Mario Kart does have this knack for creating obstacles with ridiculous proportions (the goats in Daisy Hills, the cars in Toad's Turnpike, the cows in Moo Moo Meadows, etc.) so I'm not clear on this. Is it confirmed anywhere that these Goombas are Grand Goombas? 19:55, 7 March 2012 (EST)
:Well they are much larger than the average Goomba (even by Mario Kart standards) but I don't know if it's official (nor do I know if they are called Goombas) Raven Effect
::In Mario Kart Wii, they are much smaller. Again, it could be just a  size inconsistency. I think we should assume that these are regular Goomba unless otherwise stated. That means, they're not Grand Goombas unless Nintendo says so. 20:00, 7 March 2012 (EST)
:::I think based on there size it's more reasonable to assume they are Grand Goombas not regular Goomba's who have always been much smaller in Mario Kart Games Raven Effect
::::I still don't know. The course itself tends to be much larger when it is remade in a more recent Mario Kart game. This is very unclear to me whether those Goombas are Grand Goombas or not due to the shrinking racer/expanding course trend in remade courses. 20:07, 7 March 2012 (EST)
Hefty Goomba
Are we sure that the Prima guide is wrong, Nintendo could have renamed it, I mean after all Blooper used to Bloober Yoshi876
:I don't quite understand your point here. Besides, the Prima Guide isn't the best source for an enemy's name. 173.55.155.46 14:51, 10 March 2013 (EDT)
:The Prima guide said it was called a 'Hefty Goomba' it could be, and probably is, wrong, but I'm saying that it is possible that Nintendo have renamed it Yoshi876
::If there is no official source other than the Prima guide, we rename the article to what the Prima guide says. Otherwise, we don't use the Prima guide due to it being quite unreliable at times.
Move to "Big Goomba"
Shouldn't we move this to Big Goomba? In SSB4, the trophy calls it that, and the MarioWiki goes by the most recent name. Also, of course, SSB4 was made by Nintendo.
-Super Elite Yoshi
:Right, and the enemies we have listed as "Grand Tail Goombas" were referred to as Big Tail Goombas in-game back in Dream Team Bros. LinkTheLefty (talk) 17:40, 8 April 2015 (EDT)
