The reasoning given for the split template was "This serves a different purpose and the Japanese name of Paper Macho Goomba is apparently the usual name for Goomba Mask...Best split both to be safe." I'd argue that the name was changed to avoid confusion, as "paper-mache Goomba" is the mask's JP name, and it'd be weird to have both an enemy and item with that same name. And they don't have different purposes, either: in ''3D World'' and ''Mario Maker 2'', Mario uses it to sneak past enemies, while in ''The Origami King'', Mario uses it to... sneak past enemies, too. There is the Breezy Tunnel scene where Mario uses the mask to make Olivia laugh, but that's just another use ''in addition'' to what it does in the platformers. This feels like it's meant to be the same thing. Any other thoughts? {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 21:15, July 22, 2020 (EDT)

:I agree; it's easier to consider it the same thing. {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 21:18, July 22, 2020 (EDT)

::There's a key difference between the usual Goomba Mask and this one, however - the usual one is directly based on a regular Goomba, whereas this one is more clearly based on a Paper Macho Goomba, with googly eyes and goofy eyebrows that give it an important secondary function that I doubt would be appropriate with the other Goomba Mask. :::It's based on a variant of Goombas, but I still believe it was just renamed to avoid confusion. The localizations didn't need to give it a new name because there is no paper-mache connection in this language. {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 18:17, July 24, 2020 (EDT)
