Should the appearance in SMA4's e-level be noted? The problem I see is that it wasn't officially released. You can download all the e-reader levels from various places, but since they weren't actually sold, should it be on the site? The level is called Castle a Go-Go. ===Rename to Kuribo's Shoe===
I think it should be moved to this because thats the name in the game. yoshiyoshiyoshi
:I think the policy says you use the latest released name and in the remake of Super Mario Bros. 3 it's called the Goomba's Shoe there was a proposal about chaining the name http://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive_17#Change_Goomba.27s_Shoe_to_Kuribo.27s_Shoe but it failed to pass Goomba's Shoe15
But a new game just came out.Super Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary Edition.Whats it called in that? yoshiyoshiyoshi
Alright i got in touch with a friend who owns the game and he says they call it the Kuribo's Shoe in the manuelMarshal Dan Troop
...*couch* Yes, so it's Kuribo's Shoe in the latest release, meaning we can all go back to calling it that now. LinkTheLefty 13:48, 2 April 2012 (EDT)
I will rename this article to Kuribo's Shoe, and NOW! :It was called Kuribo's Shoe in the Wii version of SMAS because that was a untouched port of the original SMAS just like VC games, not because Nintendo decided to revert back to that name. There's no damn reason to go back to calling it Kuribo's Shoe, especially knowing that it's a mistranslation and Goomba's Shoe is not only more accurate, but also the name preferred by Nintendo. I don't see people referring to Final Fantasy III and VI as Final Fantasy II and III respectively just because that's what they were called in their VC re-releases. - Ericss (talk) 22:34, 31 December 2012 (EST)
::I'd argue that it was a conscious decision, actually. Considering that the manual was touched up considerably from the SNES release (for example, they retranslated the story sections), I'd say Nintendo certainly had the ability to correct it to the name the localization branch supposedly wanted - they finally changed "Mushroom Retainers" to Toads, after all, and made the item names uniform. Just because it's unchanged doesn't mean it's "wrong". LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:51, 12 August 2013 (EDT)
power up
is this technically a power up? although the power up song doesn't sound, it acts like ine, giving mario abilities, and losing it by getting hit when walking into a spiny, goomba, etc.
User:Boowhoplaysgames
:Yes its called one in the original manuel i belive Goomba's Shoe15
TPP
Technickal posted a comment here about the possibility of renaming the article. I think someone should create a TPP about this. (Not me, because I already have 3 proposals going on.) Personally, I think we should wait for Sticker Star, and see what it is named in that game, because we could rename the article and three months later, have it all be invalid because it was Goomba's Shoe in PMSS. I think if a TPP was created we should have three options, 1. Rename it Kuribo's Shoe 2. Keep it as Goomba's Shoe 3. Wait, and see what it is called in Sticker Star. That's just my opinion, and we should see how this debate turns out. September 2, 2012 15:00 (EDT)
:There isn't anything to discuss. Kuribo's Shoe is the Japanese name and the MarioWiki doesn't allow Japanese names to take over English ones (unless of course there was no English name to begin with such as a few Mario games). A similar TPP was to do with renaming King Boo (Super Mario Sunshine) to Boss Boo (his Japanese name). It remained to be called King Boo since MarioWiki only wants English names where possible. So no renaming of this type will happen. Anyway, a redirect is good enough. 15:09, 2 September 2012 (EDT)
::There's no rule about having more than three proposals running at one time, that's for featured article nominations.
:::@Jordan It isn't just the Japanese name, it was the english name in SMB3 and Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary edition. It was a major topic of discussion above. @Master R.O.B. I know, but I personally don't want a big chunk of proposals proposed by me at one time.
::::Actually we've already had a proposal about this [. Raven Effect

It would be a worthful note that if Mario uses Giant Stiletto, it can break blocks that Giant Goomba's Shoe can not. Also, it can glide similar to Yoshi by attaching Wings on both Big and Small of either Shoe. Kevinkeene
Should we make a separate article for "Shoe Goomba"?
Normally I would be against creating multiple articles about (imo) basically the same thing, but I don't see this as such. In this case, Goomba's Shoe is an item, while Shoe Goomba, which is named so in Super Mario Maker, refers to an enemy riding the said item. ::I can't remember the warbling voice saying that. But yeah, I'd support it, particularly since it got its own section in the old Perfect Daijiten. Old English source called it "Kuribo's Goomba," as redundant as that seems. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:49, 21 November 2018 (EST)

::::This doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would require a proposal, to be honest, given they're different subjects from within the same games. Still, maybe some more input should be given to this conversation. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:14, 25 November 2018 (EST)
:::::Late reply, but the warbled voice indeed says "Shoe Goomba". "Stiletto Goomba" is also there. SmokedChili (talk) 12:09, April 16, 2019 (EDT)

Split Shoe Goomba and/or Stiletto Goomba from this page
Settled TPP
passed
Those 3 things are likely different things. Goomba/Kuribo('s) Shoe specifically refers to the item, while Shoe Goomba refers to the enemy. The Goomba's Shoe's Japanese name is Kuribo no Kutsu, while the Shoe Goomba is Kutsu Kuribo. The Stiletto Goomba is a different thing, as it refers to a different type of shoe. When wings are given to it, when the player uses it, it makes a woman's laugh. Given how we split the Fire Koopa Clown Car, i think it'd set a precedent for the Stiletto Goomba as well.
Please take a look at current state of the page before voting, as we are lumping an enemy, and a stiletto with a slightly different function. Additionally, if this proposal fails, the only logical thing to do will be to reexamine variants like the Boo Buddy formation, and shakeable objects, like the Music Block and the Fire Koopa Clown Car. Thanks for your understanding.

Split all
#FanOfYoshi Per proposal.
Just split Shoe Goomba
Just split Stiletto Goomba
Split Shoe Goomba while merging the Stiletto Goomba info to it
#Niiue Per proposal.
#YoshiFlutterJump Per proposal.
#Doc von Schmeltwick It has its own name in multiple languages, its own page-long entry and artwork in the PEotGMCE, a specific behavior, it's only relevant for when Mario's not using it, and it's so damn awkward to link to "Goomba's Shoe" from the enemy list.
#LinkTheLefty Per pro.
#SmokedChili Per all, plus there's one instance where the shoe isn't occupied by a Goomba.
#Mister Wu The internal name of the normal and stiletto variants are just kutsu_kuriboA and kutsu_kuriboB so keeping them merged makes sense, while at the same time it makes sense to separate the enemy from the item they use.
#Metalex123 Per proposal.
#MarioManiac1981 This appears to be the most sensible option.
#TheDarkStar Per all.
#FanOfYoshi I'd definitely hold off until Super Mario Maker 2 comes out to see if new information comes out, and what's the Stiletto Goomba's Japanese name.
#WeirdDave13 Per all.
Don't split anything
#HEROMARIO: They are pretty much the same.
#Alex95 - All the variants of the shoe and the enemy inside them will all share the same information. There's no difference between any of the shoes aside from visual, and the shoes will always start with an enemy inside them.
#YoshiFlutterJump Per Alex95.
#Waluigi Time I really don't think an article for Shoe Goomba is needed, and a Stiletto Goomba article would just be plain unnecessary for what is nothing more than a visual variant.
#Mario jc There's hardly any unique information on these enemies that warrants a split.
#EDShoot Per all.
#TheFlameChomp Per all.
Comments
Is there an option for "split Shoe Goomba, but have Stiletto Goomba's info merged with Shoe Goomba"? 06:38, May 9, 2019 (EDT)
:Hmmm... That's not a bad idea. -- 07:42, May 9, 2019 (EDT)
::The opposition: "Shoe Goomba" specifically refers to the enemy, while "Goomba's Shoe" refers to the item. For the Stiletto, we split off the Music Block earlier, also there is a change. When you ride one that has wings, unlike the normal shoe, will make some sort of woman laugh. Yes, i'm aware that i haven't voted yet, because i don't know what to choose. -- 11:55, May 9, 2019 (EDT)
:::Different sound effects hardly warrant a change... 19:38, May 9, 2019 (EDT)
::::Actually, iirc, the stomp attack of a Big Stiletto is greater than that of a Big Shoe. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:36, May 10, 2019 (EDT)
:::::So, should we treat it as a Music Block/Fire Koopa Clown Car thing, treat it like a color variation, or best to wait for Super Mario Maker 2's release regarding the Stiletto Goomba? -- 02:20, May 10, 2019 (EDT)
Would the split all option also split "Goomba's Stiletto" from Goomba's Shoe, or leave them merged? LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:18, May 11, 2019 (EDT)

::I thought it was mentioned in some Nintendo video, but I can't seem to find it, though we might find out in the sequel. LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:25, May 16, 2019 (EDT)
:::Anyways, should we treat the Stiletto Goomba as a color variant, or as the Fire Koopa Clown Car/Music Block situation? -- 04:42, May 19, 2019 (EDT)
::::Also, out of curiousity, what is the Stiletto Goomba's Japanese name? I'd guess we should wait for Super Mario Maker 2's release to see if it deserves a split or not. -- 03:10, May 20, 2019 (EDT)
:::::If it's not in an official video somewhere, then it currently doesn't have one. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:48, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
