So I looked at my manual, and it said Gold Stars.  However, I knew I heard the term "Bonus Star" somewhere.....and it hit me.  World 1-4 Message Block.  I checked this morning.  The Block calls the stars "Bonus Stars".  Info from games takes priority over that from manuals and guides, so that is the name we will use.
