:No, the Goombas in underground areas of SMB is simply because those are the values encoded to the 2nd object palette in caves. The palette is brown while outside, gray in caves, and gray and black underwater. Anyways, Gloombas actually use  a different graphical system from the value-encoded palettes, so they aren't the same situation. Besides, they're stronger. So what are you telling me then? The game states that goombas without sunlight turn blue. Are you telling me the goomba henchmen that were temporarily stationed there began breeding at some point?
