The page currently claims that the notes are "g C E C D G", but to my ear it sounds much more like "e g E C D G"? Where is that information actually sourced from, are the notes different in different games?

:Notes sound different from person to person, so what you hear may be different from what other people hear. 15:46, 14 February 2019 (EST)

::Okay, but notes aren't actually different from person to person. That just means that one of us heard wrong, which I already know. :P I'm asking if anyone has any information about which one of us is wrong. If there isn't already a clear source that's fine, I'll look in the ROM instead.--RavenWorks (talk) 21:21, 14 February 2019 (EST)

:::I just checked on a keyboard, and in fact both are valid. It depends on the game. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:41, 14 February 2019 (EST)

::::Ahh, I thought so! :D Which games have you checked? It would be interesting to make a list...--RavenWorks (talk) 21:47, 14 February 2019 (EST)

::::BTW, without even mapping frequency values to the notes they correspond to, I can already confirm that the chime in Super Mario Bros uses six separate notes, rather than repeating the second and fourth notes like the wiki page says: https://gist.github.com/1wErt3r/4048722#file-smbdis-asm-L15344 --RavenWorks (talk) 21:51, 14 February 2019 (EST)
:::::I haven't directly checked any specific games in the interrim, I've just played so many of them that both sound like versions I've certainly heard. The different style of instrumentation between games additionally  helps there. Sunshine almost definitely uses the "e"-beginning one, and I'm pretty sure I've heard the "g" one as well, though YouTube's immediate soundbytes are fairly limited. ::::::OK, here's proof of the actual sequence of notes for SMB1, with all of the sources cited in the page source: http://ravenworks.ca/temp/smb1_1up_notes.html I'll update the page to reflect this, and once someone finds a specific example of the other pattern appearing in a game, we can list both. --RavenWorks (talk) 12:52, 15 February 2019 (EST)
Rename this article
Shouldn't this article be called "Life" instead of "Extra Life", because that's what they are called in the games? 106.69.180.224
