Official Name Found
In the Super Mario Galaxy manual, page 10 (see the pdf here ), the official name of this block is "Block". PS : The SMG2 manual, page 11 (see here) also call this block "Block" Banon (talk) 18:00, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

EDIT : I also checked the SMB, SMB3, SMW, SML, NSMB, NSMBW, SM3DL (not the NSMB2 or the Lost Levels) manuals and its name is not mentionned, but sometimes, under the list of the blocks or other stuff like this there is written something like "There are others surprises to discover", inclunding the empty block. :I read through the manual and I din't see the word mentioned on either page you referred to. Marshal Dan Troop

:::That's not page 10 that's page 18. Marshal Dan Troop
::::Sorry. That was the page 10 of the pdf, where one page is two pages of the paper version. Anyway, should we rename the page ?
:::::I don't know since we already have a page on blocks which covers all blocks that is called block. Marshal Dan Troop
::::::I agree, but an official name, even ambiguous, is better than a conjectural name, no ? I don't know what to do. We could rename this page "Block (type)" and the current page to "Block (category)". But the problem is that it is not a category. Banon (talk) 04:19, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
:::::::One possible solution if we rename this is to make this "Block" and make this "Blocks", with the proper templates to avoid confusion and such. -- 1337star (Mailbox SP) 11:51, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
::::::::I think that it would be perfect, but does it exist a rule which forbid the plural in the title ? I have a doubt. EDIT : Forget this sentence, we totally can (Bosses Ennemies Allies Species)
Are you sure that's the latest name? If you can find a newer one use that instead! Kelton2: Your neighborhood wiki helper. (talk) 08:14, 5 November 2012 (EST)
:The three last games where Question Block appear are : Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2. I checked the SMG2 manual : it is written "Block". In the SM3DL, they don't say its name. I haven't checked the NSMB2 manual. 06:36, 7 November 2012 (EST)
::I own both of thes guides, and they call them "blocks". I read another guide and it called them "regular blocks". 13:17, 20 November 2012 (EST)
:::Which guide call them "regular blocks" ?
How about we put a distinguish on Block and a Diff on Used Block. That way, there is less confusion between the two "Blocks" and we still give attribution for the official name.
01:28, 2 December 2012 (EST)
::That would be better than the current situation. But why not add brackets ? This article should not be named Used Block, because an official name has been found. Why not : Block (type) or Block (category) or Block (general) with a distinguish and Block (Question Block) or Block (Used Block) or Block (Used Question Block) with a distinguish. It may sound confusing, but...
How about renaming the page "Block (used)" Still official, yet distinguishing.
18:42, 11 December 2012 (EST)
:Yes, that's true and I totally agree with you. But wouldn't it be "better" if we'd rename it "Block (used block" ? After all, it may be redundant ! Can we rename the page "Block (used)" now ? 13:02, 13 December 2012 (EST)
Yep, go ahead and rename it. Remember to remove the Conjecture template and update as many words and links as you can. I'll help you out if you want.
16:23, 13 December 2012 (EST)
:Ok, I did it, but now I have to edit all those pages. But, for an unknown reason, every page that has "Block" in its title and "used" in its article is listed here... 16:53, 13 December 2012 (EST)
That would be because all those pages were being linked via Template:Blocks. I updated the link there, so that got rid of a few.
02:18, 14 December 2012 (EST)
"Used"
It's found in some games, such as Super Mario Land, completely empty by default. Thus, this should be "Block (empty)", as "used" could be misleading. 16:55, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
:Well, how about you just state that in the article? 16:57, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
::...You don't get the point. 16:59, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
:::Did you mean rename the page? 17:01, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
::::...Yes... 17:03, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
:::::Well then I agree with you! 17:06, 13 May 2014 (EDT)
