#Salmancer I'd rather do this, though I see Camwoodstock's point that it means instead of half the users having to click one more link, everyone has to click one more link. The example case for skipping a disambiguation page is pretty extreme though, being Knuckles (Saturday Supercade) to Knuckles. And another statement in MarioWiki:Namingsays even if there are only two pages, if both pages have equal priority there still has to be a disambiguation page. The example case for that is Antechamber.

#SComic Per Salmancer. Plus, there's enough information to warrant a split. If this is how it's handled for Dr. Mario, this is how it should be handled for Dr. Luigi.

#Hewer It's just Luigi wearing a doctor outfit. His only appearances are three Dr. Mario games where "normal" Luigi doesn't appear, and Mario Kart Tour where he is among the hundreds of other character variants (including Dr. Peach and Dr. Bowser, so Dr. Luigi is not actually the only recurring one). In other words, the only thing setting him apart from the other doctor characters besides Dr. Mario is two more appearances where he is just as indistinct from normal Luigi. I'd rather we split based on how distinct they are than simply an arbitrary number of appearances - I honestly would call for merging Dr. Mario with Mario if it weren't for him being a separate character in Smash, which sets him apart. I also find it odd how this proposal's argument seems to mainly be about Dr. Luigi's distinction from Dr. Mario, as though it was a proposal to split Dr. Luigi from Dr. Mario rather than to split Dr. Luigi from Luigi. Also, not exactly the same situation, but consider how Paper Mario (character) is handled.

#SolemnStormcloud Per Hewer.
#Mario I would be open to revisiting this proposal once Dr. Luigi establishes himself as a distinct alter ego with a larger series to his name. Dr. Mario gets his own page due to being a much more recognizable alter ego in a sizeable and pretty iconic game series starring the alter ego. The split, I think, makes sense and works due to the information, which is quite a lot due to the recurring appearances, being easily accessed in Dr. Mario while the History of Mario page appropriately covers it. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but Talk:Nurse Toadstool also has reasons justifying splitting the Drty Doctor and not necessarily Nurse Toadstool or Dr. Luigi.
#Super Mario RPG Per Hewer and Mario.

:Replying to note that we saw it, and our keeping our vote as-is, since we personally don't see the need for a Dr. Luigi disambiguation when there would only be 2 valid topics. Still, would feel rude not to acknowledge it, so here we be. ;P 01:36, January 16, 2025 (EST)

I mean yeah but considering Leo Luster is just Bluster Kong with slightly different hair, I don't think Dr. Luigi needs to look that different to be considered separate from Luigi. I admit that we haven't seen Dr. Luigi in the same room as a separate character from Luigi like Paper Mario with Mario, but aside from their smash appearences, the same is true of Dr. Mario.-- 15:55, January 17, 2025 (EST)
:My point isn't really about what he looks like so much as how distinctly he is portrayed and whether he's ever really set apart from "normal" Luigi. Leo Luster is depicted as a distinct alter ego of Bluster Kong who switches back and forth within that episode and clearly acts differently, while Dr. Luigi is just how Luigi looks in the Dr. Mario series and has never appeared in the same game as normal Luigi outside of Mario Kart Tour (which is full of such costume variant characters). As for "aside from their smash appearences, the same is true of Dr. Mario" - that's precisely the point I made in my vote. The Smash appearances are the only reason I think Dr. Mario should be split, and Dr. Luigi doesn't have that going for him. 18:03, January 17, 2025 (EST)
