Split Page?
Split Page?
This page is covering two different ideas that both happen to share the same name. One is the act of jumping directly after performing a jump, the other is the ability to jump while already being in the air. While they are both improved versions of jumps, I don't think they are related in a way that makes them belong on the same page. I feel like this page should be split into two pages covering the different ideas, with a disambiguation page taking this page's spot. Either that or moving the information for the consecutively performed Double Jump to the Triple Jump page, but I think that would just make Triple Jump unclear. ==Splitting Up Double Jump==
Settled TPP
passed
As stated above, I do not think that two concepts that share the same name are necessarily the kinds of things that warrant being on the same page. Another set of techniques that share the same name that are conceptually similar, the Ground Pound and the Ground Pound, aren't treated this way, seemingly because Super Smash Bros. gives the wiki the alternate name of the "Hand Slap" for the latter DK only version. Therefore, I think that this page should be changed in the same way. However, I also think that a possible option would be simply putting information relating to jumping twice consecutively on Triple Jump. Lastly, this situation can be considered to be more like the Banana situation where splitting the page by idea just creates a mess, but I think the limited appearances of moves under the name "Double Jump" makes a split more feasible.

Split page into Double Jump (airborne) and Double Jump (consectutive), leaving a disambiguation page here
#Salmancer They may share the same name, but they aren't the same maneuver. I would rather do this than the below option because that might bury the Double Jump information.
#Toadette the Achiever Given that this is a similar case to a proposal I initiated a while back, I believe this is the best option. It's also straightforward enough (unlike the Banana case that you mentioned), especially considering that there's a least one other major difference to gravitate to, namely that the latter is momentum-based while the former is not.
#Duckfan77 Per all.
#Doc von Schmeltwick Totally different things based on respective physics engine. SM64 and other Mario platformers uses a more "realistic" type, while the midair type that has basis in the flutter jump and was popularized in platformers by games like BK before later non-Mario games started losing the physics-based excuse for allowing it, but I digress. Per proposal.
#Waluigi Time It's a very similar concept but not quite the same. Per all.
#TheFlameChomp Per proposal.
#DarkNight Per proposal.
#Infinite8 In the page, I can see two different things which shares the same name. Even with the introduction from that page says "(also called Continuous Jump in Super Mario 64 and Midair Jump)", which are not similar moves. Per proposal.
#MarioManiac1981 Mario platformers' Double Jump is nothing like Super Smash Bros.s version. Per all, let's split 'em up.
Merge the information involving jumping twice in a row to Triple Jump
#Salmancer Secondary option, because the Double Jump never appears without the Triple Jump and the Double Jump is also a necessary component of the Triple Jump. Thus, the Double Jump can be seen as a step in the process of Triple Jumping.
Do Nothing
Comments
Yeah, the reason the Banana case is too complicated is because the changes in the Bananas' functions in-between games are too sporadic to easily gravitate to a specific set of changes (such as the case with most different types of Coins). 14:24, July 12, 2020 (EDT)
