I've always wondered, are the Dk Isles and also all other locations the kongs have ventured to ([[Crocodile Isle]], [[Timber Island]], etc.) apart of the [[Marioverse]] or just ''connected'' to it like [[Earth]] (and supposedly other worlds, which would explain [[Link]] and the [[Pikmin]]'s appearance(s) in Mario games). -- [[User:Sir Grodus|Sir Grodus]]

:Well, I believe it is a part of the Marioverse, the general universe of Mario and the gang. However, whether it is a part of the Mushroom World, that's a different question. It would make sense that DK could easily travel between the DK Isles and the Mushroom Kingdom, and as such both would be part of the same world. Locations in the DK Isles also appear in Mario games, such as Mario Party 7 (DK and the Mario Party players battle in the jungles around DK's house). [[Klaptrap]]s and [[Kritter]]s have also appeared in Mario games as regular old baddies, not special cameo characters. Diddy Kong has also appeared in the roster of regular old playable Mario characters. That leads me to believe that the DK Isles are a part of the Mushroom World. Regarless, DK is a part of the Marioverse, as the DK franchise is where Mario emerged from. -- [[User: Son of Suns|Son of Suns]]

::I've questioned this too.  The settings of the Donkey Kong games seem to be distinct from the "style" of the Mushroom World.  The environments are far less surreal and most inhabitants, excluding the Tiki Tak Tribe, are only anthropomorphic animals.  DK obviously belongs to the Marioverse, but I agree whether its part of the Mushroom World, as diverse as that setting is, is indeed questionable.  I'd wager that DK and Mario are both connected through the "Real World", which has connections to their separate dimensions, if that makes any sense.

Given the plural and that it appears (I believe) anywhere when paused on the hub world, this is probably supposed to be the name of the archipelago the main island is a part of, as seen in ''Donkey Kong 64'' (and maybe ''Tropical Freeze''). DK Isles should definitely be split. [[Donkey Kong Island (world)]] and [[Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario Odyssey)]] have their own articles, so DK Isles should also have one, especially since it includes more than just Donkey Kong Island. Seeing that now we have [[Kongoland]] split, should we also split Kongo Bongo Island and the Jungle Kingdom? Sure, they may be based on Donkey Kong Island, but "Based on ≠ The same". They both have unique locations, with Kongo Bongo having [[Bluster Barrelworks]] and the [[Forbidden Forest]], and the Jungle Kingdom having the [[Great Ring of Kong]], which aren't present on Donkey Kong Island. If we do end up splitting this some day, I think we should also split Kongo Bongo's other locations from the world they're based on. Ever since [[Kongoland]] was split from this article, I've been wondering if it's worth splitting both Kongo Bongo Island and the Jungle Kingdom from this. Yes, they are definitely based on Donkey Kong Island, but "Similar ≠ The Same," so I'd consider them different enough to be split. Both Kongo Bongo and the Jungle Kingdom have a lot of differences from Donkey Kong Island, such as the name, (duh) the overall structure, the areas that don't appear in Donkey Kong Island, ([[Bluster Barrelworks]], [[Forbidden Forest]], [[Great Ring of Kong]], etc.) Kongo Bongo's "[[The Island of Kongo Bongo|anthem]]" of sorts, its resident's roles, (DK is the future ruler of Kongo Bongo, but the prince of the Jungle Kingdom) and various other differences. And you wanna know what else is similar to Donkey Kong Island, but in all has a lot of differences? Kongoland, and that has its article split, so why aren't these two the same case?

If this proposal goes through, I'd also like to have Kongo Bongo's areas that are merged with the ''Donkey Kong Country'' world it's based on split. For example, the {{fake link|White Mountains}} shall be split from the [[Gorilla Glacier]]. The White Mountains are very different, after all. The Gorilla Glacier is structured while the White Mountains is mostly just snow. The White Mountains are also a place of banishment, as seen in [[Kong for a Day|two]] [[Hooray for Holly-Kongo Bongo|episodes]], as well as the home of [[Eddie the Mean Old Yeti|Eddie]].

Not every jungle where DK lives has to be Donkey Kong Island, as [[Kongoland]] shows, and if the excuse for that is that it's based on the arcade DK games, the Jungle Kingdom has girders that are clearly meant to reference the original arcade game.
