It seems that a fair amount of articles on this wiki whose titles are apparently derived from foreign sources are named without proper official citations. In a small effort to minimize unsourced / conjectural pages, I propose merging this enemy with Fire Piranha Plant. Mario vs. Donkey Kong directly took the basic gameplay, concepts, and certain obstacles from the Game Boy Donkey Kong. The Fire Piranha Plant of Mario vs. Donkey Kong is almost identical to the "Dolly" flower, spitting the same projectiles at a similar rhythm. From these two related games alone, there isn't much to tell them apart except for their bud designs.

If you're uncertain about the name, why not ask the person who inserted the name in the first place?
:I would, but that user doesn't seem particularly active since their last contribution was almost a year ago, and only came back for a day after about two years prior. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:18, 11 April 2015 (EDT)
::Cobold isn't the one who gave the article its current name; he only created it. Fizzle, a user who is still active, made the change.
:::You're absolutely right, good for getting on top of that. Fizzle was also the person who supported the Daijiten a short while ago, but as we know, its overreliance has had disagreement. For now, I'll put this proposal on pause until Fizzle responds with clarification. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:49, 11 April 2015 (EDT)
Name
For future reference, the source of the name seems to be the Super Mario Daijiten. Niiue (talk) 07:03, 27 December 2015 (EST)
Tane Pakkun
Following up on the above, it turns out that the (now-sourced) Dōryī are not quite the equivalent of Fire Piranha Plants in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, but rather Tane Pakkun ("Seed Piranha") according to Japanese guides. The Fire Piranha Plant references must be changed when referring to that game, but is Tane Pakkun considered its own enemy compared to Dōryī? Outside of the bud redesign and gaining Piranha Plant association, they seem to be practically identical enemies, spitting seeds at the same rate and rhythm. The article mentions that the Dōryī enemies from Game Boy Donkey Kong can be harmlessly touched whereas the Tane Pakkun enemies from Mario vs. Donkey Kong cannot and will result in damage, but the same thing applies to Monchee (which also have different appearances), and the Garbage Can enemy variants are renamed as well (Dust Man/ Bucketman). So, should Dōryī be renamed to Tane Pakkun, or should they be separate articles? LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:00, 26 August 2016 (EDT)
:Honestly, Tane Pakkun seems like a separate enemy from Dōryī (but likely based on it, like how DKGB had three enemies with the same behavior as Nitpickers). Niiue (talk) 00:10, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
