Two things:

#Is the Super Mario 64 ring even called a '''Coin Ring'''? I think it should be called [[Water Ring]] because it comes from a [[Manta]] and the jet stream underwater (as {{tem|conjecture}} if no source confirming the name is found)
#The coin rings in SM64 operate very differently than the coin rings in 3D Land and 3D World. The SM64 coin ring gives no coins but rather air and a secret number to get a [[Power Star]] while 3D Land and 3D World give the player 5 coins.

I propose a split, but I give you two options to work with along with an oppose vote.

SM64DS Prima pocket guide: "You have to swim through five of the rings it trails behind it [the Manta] in a row."<br>
SM3DL Prima eGuide: "Many levels contain large golden rings called coin rings. These are typically used to mark suggested paths. Pass through a coin ring to collect five coins"<br>
SM3DW Prima eGuide: "Step through a Gold Ring to instantly snag three Coins without having to worry about a time limit at all."<br>

"Manta Ring" is not the best name for these rings. In Dire, Dire Docks, a jet stream spews out several of these rings. :What's funny was that [http://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Coin_Ring&oldid=1048868 right at the article's creation], which was before the 3D Terraqueous Macrocosm games, it was still called "Coin Ring". So what I am getting at is that there was a misconception about a coin pattern representing a ring and a ring underwater in [[Dire, Dire Docks]] being referenced as the same thing with something written on a few signs about secret numbers in other places?
